I'm a roll fan so I don't know anything about the sashimis there. But I've tried almost all the rolls and they taste great, esp the spicy tuna and dynamite rolls.

Not many tables so I always do take out. I'm never disappointed with the sushi and the price is just right. Unfortunately, those two perks come with not the greatest service. I don't mind mediocre service to have great food @ a great price.

It's easy to understand why so many people love this sushi spot in Yaletown. First rate sushi at a very reasonable price. Very limited and close packed seating. No reservations here. And don't expect beer, wine or even saki (not licensed). But if the food is what it is about for you, you will not be disappointed.

While it took us a little while to nab a table because this restaurant is small and obviously well known as the line out the door and the constant take-out orders would suggest this restaurant was not only well worth the wait (only about 10 to 15 minutes on a Sunday night), it may have changed my sushi eating forever.... The food is really nice, the salmon sashimi is fresh and quite a big portion for $1.25 Take the bento special if you want a big portion. Everything include rice so for $6-$8, it's a great value. Downside is the space. It's really small so you need to queue for a while if you get a big party and by... More

Yamato sushi is really close to where I live so I often get take outs from this place. They offer nice portions of tasty and fresh sushi for the price you pay. Definitely call to place your order in advance to avoid long waits when taking out.

I do love Yamato Sushi. It is a very small restaurant in Yale Town, Vancouver. The portions are very good and the sushi is great. Compared to other sushi places we went to in Vancouver and around British Columbia is is very inexpensive. My favourite at this place is the Tuna Sashimi. The pieces are huge and absolutely tender so... More

We stumbled across this place when looking for lunch. The place is quite basic surroundings, but the sushi was excellent and portions generous. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the neighbourhood.

Tiny place, a jasmin tea greets you on arrival. This place has quick service with people queuing outside for take out or for a table. Portions were larger than we're used to for sushi, we got what we couldn't eat to go, as it was too tasty to leave. Would recommend.
