We would never have discovered this tiny place except we met the owner at a Rotary Club meeting! The restaurant is housed in the old Stock Exchange Building which is worth a visit in itself. From 3-7, they offer "a buck a shuck," which is hard to beat. The raw oysters were outstanding, as was the local sturgeon caviar. A... More

Amazing little room, tucked at the back of an ornate old-school vancouver office building lobby. Dark, intimate, and simply about drinks and oysters. Not always a great selection, but if you want some oysters and a glass of wine or a martini before heading off to dinner elsewhere, it's hard to beat their buck a shuck happy hour. Service was... Here's the deal: Great city. Great location. Excellent food. The service is horrifying. The place is so small it wouldn't make economic sense to hire a "staff." So...they didn't. Thus, terrible service. PS...did I mention the oysters were terrific after about an hour's wait?

This gem is located in the heart of the financial district in the financial district near to the cruise ship terminals. We visited Oyster this weekend and had a slightly negative service experience. I call two days later and left a voicemail detailing my problems. To my delight I received a telephone call from the restaurant owner (Jeremy) soon after... More

I stumbled across this place last week while with a friend of mine. We walked into a tiny room with cool decor; dimly lit yet not at all feeling congested despite its smallness. At first blush, we both turned to each other and said, "Wow! We've finally found our new place where we can come to just get away." Unfortunately,... More

We loved this place! It is small so we were lucky to get a nice table through Open Table. Oysters galore, raw and cooked! From 3pm to 7pm it is "buck a shuck"! Needless to say we indulged. They also have nice refined small dishes of other yummy things........crab cakes, sablefish, clam chowder, creative cooked oysters, salads, etc. The dishes... More

We had a snack at the Oyster Bar one evening because we read online that the meals are really expensive and very small in size. Thus we decided to only have a variety of oysters and then went to have real dinner elsewhere ;-) The oyster selection was good (raw) and very creative (grilled/cooked/baked) with new varieties that were simply... We loved this spot!! Great selection of oysters. Very tiny but great ambiance. Food was good but very small portions. My husband is a bodybuilder and definitely only a snack for him. Great for a little bite.

Like a good oyster itself, the best things often come in small packages. This can certainly be applied to "Oyster", a great little, little restaurant specializing in freshly shucked oysters and other mostly raw seafood. I cannot comment on anything but the oysters, but as the title indicates, the oysters we had last night at this hidden gem were by... More
