The pizza is good, the service is excellent

The waiter warmly welcomed us in - it was a Sunday and we arrived at 6pm and were seated instantly which was great. He informed us of the kind of Pizza they make - VPN authentic which we knew and that is the reason we wanted to come here as you expect the pizza to be at a worldwide standard.... read more

This VPN certified pizza place in Vancouver was amazing - just as good as the stuff we have had in NYC. Definitely make sure to look on the back of the menu for the secret spicy pizza which was excellent. We also had a hilarious waiter who went on a tirade about the amount of new condos in Vancouver and... More

We went a few minutes ahead of the other couple we were meeting there so we could get a spot in line (they don't take reservations beforehand). This proved to be a wise decision as the wait was 45 minutes (not bad, walk around, grab a drink somewhere) - their automated system sent us a text message when our table... More

Loved the Diavola Pizza! It definitely hit the spot! Nicli was one of the best restaurants we've eaten at in Vancouver.

A friend insisted I do a comparison between the two best wood-fired pizza joints in Vancouver. This place definitely ranks. Located in a cool, refurbished building in the right part of town, there's plenty of good people watching to be had. Wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly. No reservations means a wait, but there's plenty to see in the neighbourhood... More

I have eaten many wood fired thin crust pizzas in Italy and this is the real deal. Thin chewy crust, toasted lightly in the wood fire without being scorched and tasting like charcoal. Fresh toppings and creative choices - I had the daily special with roasted onions, red peppers and prosciutto and my sister enjoyed the pesto & bacon. The... More

Expectations were high as this restaurant was architecturally appealing. We found the soup salty and the pizza just average - nothing special. Staff seemed self serving as one of the staff said they like the air conditioning that cold in the restaurant even though customers found it too cold, inconsistent service as only one table I could hear the waiter... Waiting is part of the story esp on the weekend. Walk-in reservations only!! We went due to advert in the DOXA festival. Glad to have gone. Good service, fun to see pizza oven and all fresh ingredients (esp spices) made in sight. Wines looked good; I was the 'designated driver' so picked refreshing non-aloc. Drink which was nice. Good draft... More

Unpretentious facility. Comparable to Smashing Tomato in Lexington KY which is also certified. Helpful wait staff and friendly . Warm olives for appetizer- tasty although I wonder if they were as ripe as they should have been. The Margherita pizza was as it should have been, kissed by the flame. Dessert selected was tiramisu which was classic and recommendable. Suggest... More
