Extravagant High Tea Experience with a Canadian-Asian twist.

An excellent high tea with attentive, warm service and some of the loveliest and most extensive collection of teas we've ever come across. Choose from hundreds of varieties. Use the waitstaff's extensive knowledge and have them recommend some for you to nose-sample. Huge urns of loose tea brought... read more

I have here before during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and was just passing by while doing a walk around downtown Vancouver and saw the restaurant, and said I must go in and have a snack lunch with a really special tea. They have an impressive number of really special teas for all tastes to be served with your breakfast, brunch or lunch.... More

They know their teas! Selection is amazing. Always can find something suitable each and every time. The staff is very attentive and can assist with getting you the right tea to savor and enjoy. Also, the food selection is excellent and compliments the tea experience perfectly. They have seasonal options as well as their classics. Everything is fresh and well-crafted.... More

This was a wonderful place for afternoon tea-very nice and very upscale. They have a tea service or you can order off the small menu-tiny sandwiches and also tea cocktails and there's a nice courtyard. They also have things for children's tea as well. This is NOT Starbucks/Teavana-like or casual-it's very sit down with waiters. Merchant-The main focus is tea... More

The Urban Tea Merchant was on my “must-do” a few weeks before visiting Vancouver, during May 2015. Little did I know that I would end up there on three separate occasions during a course of ten days! The downtown establishment Is located a short walk from the Hyatt Regency Vancouver where I was staying, but making reservations was still a... More

We came here for Mother's day Brunch Tea this year. It was fantastic, the service professional, tidy, with great timing. The nice thing about tea is they leave you alone and silently come in the clear dishes when appropriate and this place is impeccable about this. Barely intruding, the table is always immaculate. The food is incredibly delicious, no complaints,... More

What a wonderful experience. Every single item in the trays was absolute perfection. The teas recommended were perfect pairings for our brunch. Service was top notch. We are absolutely coming back!

I had a nice tea time at this venue last week. While I was enjoying the tea and sandwich/soup set the cherry blossoms outside the back windows were in full bloom. When the wind blew a bit the petals would fall making it look like snow flakes. The image will stick with me for some time. :-) The tea is... More

Went there with friends days ago. ( Thanks to my friends for inviting me there). Location and environment are nice with fancy decoration. While food amount was small for the price you paid. Being said, their afternoon tea set were way too expensive based on food quality and amount. Especially, when you had visited other tea rooms around the city,... More
