Incredible sandwiches

I had the Porchetta ($9) - a roast pork sandwich on a delicious roll, replete with salsa verde and plenty of crackling. Delicious and filling. One of, if not the best sandwiches I have ever eaten.

Their best sandwich is the porchetta one: slowly cooked porchetta rolled with salsa verde, served on crunchy buns with addictive crackling. Just writing it weeks after eating my last one makes my mouth water. Order one of their daily sides. They are all fresh and tasty.

I have ordered from Meat and Bread many times. I love the porchetta sandwich and last week i grabbed one to-go. It was definitely not the quality I am used to! Eating it in my office I kept getting full bites of fat. Not the crispy skin that I love but just plain fat. I literally had to spit out... More

This is a very simple concept, around 5 different sandwich opens and a couple of soups but they outdo themselves on taste. Well worth a visit, perfect for quick lunch!

What a great concept. I see why Guy Fieri featured it on DDD. The menu is limited but all the ingredients are top drawer, fresh and wonderful. Don't settle for regular fast food if you are in downtown Vancouver. Stop by for the real deal

Stopped in for lunch and were greeted by a friendly staffer who gave suggestions for our first visit. Daily special, plus a few standard menu items, and either a beer, small or large. Community seating was nice but not a lot of talking as everyone was devouring the sandwiches. The best sandwich I have had.

This is a cool place to visit when you want to have a snack. we went there for one afternoon as this was my bfs favourite sandwich place so I had high expectation. This was my discovery.... Choices of sandwiches were limited to only 3 types... and I didn't get to try out their famous prochetta sandwich cos it was... More

Went for lunch today on the basis of other good reviews and we were not disappointed. The special and the regular rolls were really delicious as was the soup and salad. A very well run business, busy but not making you wait.

Wow....sure can't disagree with recent reviews that this is the best sandwich someone has ever eaten. This is a cool, eclectic little place friendly, efficient people and a very tasty sandwich. Definitely would go there again.

I spent 6 weeks exploring Vancouver and this was the best place for lunch by far. Meat and Bread has a trending seating arrangement where you share one long table with the other customers opening up the opportunity to interact with strangers. The pork and crackling sandwich is amazing (my friends called it "Angel in a Bun"), I have not... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
