Great Pub Fare!

I have visited both this location and the former one on West Boulevard several times. I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. They are a comfortable, relaxed inn, with good beer and great food. The Big Rock IPA is a little mild for my taste, and it would be good to get one of... read more

If you have been to an English pub in Britain you know what to expect when you visit the Cheshire Cheese Inn. Typical community pub hangout for Dunbar locals. Service is about the same as you would get in England. Menu has a great selection of British style foods. The roast beef dinner is quite good but only on Tuesdays... More

A great Dunbar Neighbourhood treasure. A place to meet friend and family so share a few sips of Bubbly Pop and a Lunch. Food menu and quality well above pub standard. the interior reminds me of a traditional English pub.

So, it is not as if the food was awful, however, the service was absolutely terrible. The waitress was aloof the entire time, sat us at a dirty table, did not come back to clean it for about ten minutes. Then someone else came and cleaned even though our table was clearly the first waitresses responsibility. She did not come... More

In the best pub tradition, a friendly restaurant/bar for a neighbourhood. Welcoming to families - they can provide a hot chocolate for a cold child after a day of ice skating or a cool brew after playing sports with your friends. The premises are air conditioned for a hot day. Daily food specials - typical pub grub - not gastropub... More

Good food for the price, but the starters I think were a bit overpriced. Had the steak and ale bites, and would for sure go back just for those! Good service as well, and friendly staff.

Dropped into this quirky neighbourhood pub for supper and I wasn't disappointed. Tried the lamb leg with savoury mint sauce and the Lamb actually tasted like lamb. I have found the lamb at more big chain restaurants is more like beef so this was a pleasant surprise. The savour mint sauce was tad too savoury but didn't ruin the meal.... More

Our family has dined at the Cheshire Cheese for some 20+ years. It's a relaxing atmosphere where the entire family can enjoy some good home-cooked traditional style pub food. A favourite has been Toad-In-The-Hole, British Bangers clothed in Yorkshire pudding and dressed with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy. Whenever the urge or occasion came up it was an easy... More

My sister had heard about the prime rib special on Friday Nights so headed out. Very English style pub. Menu had a wide range of selections. My sister had the prime rib, mum had the bangers and mash and I had the cottage pie. Food was good and portions were generous. Atmosphere was good however being a Friday night it... More

Had breakfast here last Sunday. No wait for a table, pleasant English pub type atmosphere and the food was great. We had the British Breakfast and eggs bene. British Breakfast is 2 eggs any style, bacon, pork sausage, baked beans, grilled tomato, fried potatoes and toast for only $10. We found plenty of free street parking. If you have kids... More
