It's used to be Japanese owned and they were excellent, but now owner has been changed. I checked their website before our visit and it was same as before and even the original chef was in the picture and the review was excellent. That's why we went there again. We were told that they hold our reservation only 10 minutes... More

This restaurant was referred to us with high praise. I must say that our dinner surpassed my expectations. The quality of the food was exceptional and the service perfect. The chef and his team were very friendly and if I ever go back to Vancouver I will certainly pay them another visit.

Went there after a flight from Arizona and a frantic hour at the Bellingham Costco so I was ready for a good meal. I was not disappointed. The spicy scallop roll was very fresh and very big. The miso soup was piping hot. I had the chicken kaarage and although it was different to other places I've tried...it was very... More

Hopped in for lunch with spouse to try this place, finding out it changed ownership just nigh a year ago. Very pleasant server states, "very young owner." To me excellence reveals itself in the quality of its miso soup, and here it did not disappoint, being rich and full-flavored. We tried the special, "volcano roll", a surprising treat with crisp... An unassuming place that will absolutely blow your mind away! Excellence in quality, presentation and service. Our only regret was our limited stomach capacity preventing us from trying out more stuff. You can see the chefs' passion for their craft in the food "art" you are presented. For what you get, it's an unbelievable value. Even before we left, we... More

I popped in for a quick lunch, and ordered the sushi combo plate, which came with a large bowl of miso soup. Very attentive service (they weren't busy), and the sushi chef was very obviously well trained and experienced. He had two sous chefs working behind him, and he would occasionally look over their shoulders to see they were on... More

We came here for the first time on April 29, 2012 after reading about it in Vancouver Magazine's Restaurant Awards issue. Chef Kimura was holding court at the sushi bar and we ordered the $40 omakase which consisted of 9 dishes. Great value and excellent inventive cuisine! It quickly becomes evident that Chef Kimura is a master of textures. The... More

One of the best little Japanese restaurants in town for value. The omakase is very good, where the chef makes 5 to 6 dishes for you depending on how much you spend : 30,40, or 50 dollars per person. One of the dishes was a monk fish liver pate. My teenage kids like the combo selections off the menu which... More

After reading so many reviews of this restaurant and how great it was, I really expected more. We tried to make a reservation several times but no one would even return my calls. Finally I got my call answered and we were in. A few dishes were quite good but mostly pretty average for the great sushi available elsewhere in... More

Some of the best sushi I've had in a long time (and there is lots of competition in this city). The Uni was magnificent, subtle, sweet and very very fresh. Raw oyster sushi (why is this the first time I've seen raw oyster for sushi) was perfect. For an appetizer, we were served something described as 'boy parts' of a... More
