Small Wedding Dinner Served Family Style

Dinner for more than 6 is served at La Quercia on the L'ufficio side of the restaurant. This warm restaurant with impeccable food and service was how the 10 of us celebrated a 20 year relationship and new marriage! The staff gave us all evening to eat our 7 or 9 course meal, we chose only 7 courses... read more

Not really up the hype which this cosy Italian restaurant commands. Yes, they did not find our reservation (made through the Hermitage Hotel) but that is not influencing at all our evaluation here, since they put us at the bar with kitchen view, which at the end was a great place to have our dinner. But foodwise we expected a... More

After reading several reviews, my husband and I decided on the la familia experience. We are glad we did! The staff asked us about our likes, dislikes and if there were any food allergies. Then the chef prepared our 7 courses just for us. Truly. The folks at the next table ordered family style and were brought different, and probably... More

Not to be missed if you're a foodie or just discriminating about food, flavour, freshness and peak preparation. I had the vegetarian tasting menu and it was superb. I loved that the 8 or so courses were very small, which is perfect for this sort of experience. One course was a ravioli that was the best I've ever had anywhere.... More

I was cautiously optimistic as I didn't want to be disappointed, but we got the alla famiglia and we really, really enjoyed it. Every single dish exuded fresh ingredients that clearly exuded their own flavors, was presented well, and the service was really impeccable. I had to really think to find a flaw, and my only nit-pick was that the... More

Had heard great things about this place, and indeed the food was very tasty, but SO expensive, and such tiny servings. My husband and I weren't all that hungry but still came away with a tab over $100 for the two of us - and I didn't even drink any wine.

offering a la carte and a couple of taster menus. We opted for one of the taster menus and enjoyed the experience. This was helped by efficient and friendly waiting staff who explained everything and checked our likes/dislkes before we actually ordered. A lovely atmosphere and well worth reserving a table if you want to go as this restaurant is... More

I've been here twice recently and on both occasions the food was very good, the offering extremely interesting, and great staff with a solid wine list. Definitely very well executed and a great choice if you are looking for authentic Northern Italian cuisine. They've done a great job and this is one to put on the must visit list for... More

Not the first time we have been to La Quercia, this time for multiple birthdays. The service was pleasant and informative. And offering a small taste of a possible wine choice is always nice. The food is authentic and tasty and seems very fresh. I like places with always changing menus that move with the seasons. Presentation is good and... More

I seems from other reviewers that I'm in rare company with my review, but I've eaten twice at La Quercia and have been disappointed on both occasions. Having lived briefly in Italy, I am familiar with very "good" Italian food, and for the prices and reputation here, I expected nothing less. Unfortunately, my first meal had me served well undercooked... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
