Nice small menue but extremely well prepared food. The Chardonnay wine here is a local BC wine and is fantastic.
Our experience was great: we celebrated my husband's brother birthday and somehow avoided problems some other guests experienced. The best seafood chowder ever. The best scallops (according to the celebrant himself) Excellent service. ONE GLITCH: desert contained french pastry which was undercooked, stale and cold. Shame, we could have said it was PERFECT otherwise.
Bought two coupons for four dinners; group of five had dinner a week ago. good value for the coupon price: seafood soup, scallops with couscous; wild salmon with lentils; shared dessert The price for the fifth person's dinner is overpriced" $ 16.00 for the salad; $ 36.00 for the scallops ( only 3 ) Overall the salmon was good but... Great location and view on the Vancouver waterfront near tourist interests . Ambiance is an open concept with high floor to ceiling glass windows. The staff was exceptional with attention to our needs. They even have a special menu of different diets all prepared to order. Bravo. The chef is ready to come to the table and deal with individual... More
I had the breakfast buffet here one morning. The staff was super attentive and cheerful. The amount of food was staggering. I really enjoyed what I ate but the truth was, there was no way I could eat enough to feel like I was getting a fair amount of food for the price. I recommend something simple off the menu.... More
The food is excellent I had white onion soup and lemon gnocchi. My guest had a salad and seafood pasta. Both meals were well prepared and a nice (not generous) portion. The richness made up for the serving size. The staff was exellent and the pricing is what you should expect when you consider the location. My only issue was... More
We went to our favourite restaurant to indulge ourselves. From start to finish we were made to feel special. Leann, our server, was her usual special self and treated us to some extras. Always a treat. The lamb dish was superb as was the halibut. No room for desert but their specialty coffees more than made up for that. We... More
We ate here for breakfast every day, and also had one dinner and one late night snack here. The food and service were consistently good, but the breakfast was very overpriced. Surprisingly, the dinner and snack prices were comparable with other restaurants we ate at in Vancouver. We especially enjoyed the desserts, and the bananas foster french toast. We never... More
The service was excellent but the food was expensive and tasteless. Gnocchi appeared to be made of rubber. Any steak at Maredo is 1000times better then the one I got ere. Will surely NOT return to this place!
When one pays $16 for a 5 oz glass of good wine one could reasonably expect the food to match. Not so at the Herons Restaurant, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The location is great, the service was fine but the food was a shame. Shame on the kitchen for preparing it, shame on the staff for serving it, and shame on... More
