We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly sear is known to enhance the natural flavors of the fish. Miku owner, Seigo Nakamura, innovated the Aburi concept by creating speciality sauces, using non-traditional Japanese ingredients, to complement the unique taste properties of each fish. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Trade & Exhibition Centre, IMAX Theatre, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus. If shopping downtown, join us for lunch and re-energize. It's entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruiseship terminal at Canada Place.

Good food

The location and atmosphere of this place is excellent. They do not offer the supper menu until 5 pm. Service was great. A bit over priced in my opinion.

I am a sushi snob, so, put my review in the context of knowing that... Solid sushi but not top tier. Was also surprised at the lack of fresh wasabi when requested. Very loud place too. If you live and breath Sushi, visiting Miku is not a must. If you are dying for sushi without a need for a mind... More

We kind of walked in and asked spontaneously for a table and 5min later we were all seated! The waiter was really really helpful and polite! And the food: wow it was amazing! My desert "panna cotta" was without joking one of the bests I ate in my whole life!! Will definitely go back!!

Was staying in the Fairmont Waterfront (which is right across the road) looking for a place to eat with a colleague. Found Miku through Tripadvisor and I am very glad I did. Had never had Aburi sushi before but it was just excellent (its regular Nigiri sushi but the top is lightly cooked with a blow torch and charcoal). Wasn't... More

It was our last night in Vancouver before the start of our cruise. We were disappointed the previous night in our choice of restaurant after having done some exhausting walking. Tonight, the restaurant, conveniently, was right across the road from our hotel. We could not book a table but we were advised to come early in case a table was... More

Funny, considering we think of fresh seafood from Canada. Sushi is actually not top tier in Vancouver. Miku is a contemporary sushi place right by Canada Place. The atmosphere was delightful and the staff was pleasant and courteous. We ordered the Aburi maguro sashimi, Aburi sashimi selection, Soba pepperoncino, Ebi Fritter, Ebi Oshi sushi and Miku Zen for just two... More

We had the seafood tower, the premium selection of sushi, fish tempura and chips and an amazing melt in the mouth beef. Then we had the signature pudding which apparently takes 3 days to make (and about 3 minutes to Woolf down). We also had a bottle of mer soleil silver unoaked Chardonnay which was delightful. The food was very... More

From start to finish, this was meal to remember. We came in with a party of 4 on a busy Sunday and seated in a private room in the back, overloooking the water. Andy was our waiter and nailed it. He was so knowledgable of the menu and selected some fabulous items. Seafood and fish were SO fresh. Even went... More

What a great place! I had initially stayed away as the location seemed to be very touristy- instead the menu is very innovative, the service excellent, and the quality outstanding. I will definitely be coming back here- the set menu sushi and sashimi lunches are really great and the dessert trio fantastic.

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
