"Immaculate taste of Indian origin"

Its was my first visit to Canada and we stumbled upon this restaurant quite by accident. Any one can just imagine a person almost from the other side of the globe finds an oasis in a desert. Love authentic lineage of Indian cuisine.

We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by accident (it was near our hotel and yes, we were craving something spicy). As I'm a vegetarian, we were also a bit limited as to what and where we could eat in Vancouver. We were both thoroughly impressed with our choice. While we were at dinner early (5pm) the restaurant had only two... More

Being english and 16 days into our tour of Canada we arrived finally in downtown Vancouver and felt the need of a tasty Indian curry. Salam Bombay is just off Robson St. and has very attentive and friendly service, classy, tasteful decor and a straight forward but comprehensive menu. The chicken tikka, prawn masala and daal were all really tasty... More

I have been to hundreds of Indian restaurants, in the UK, US and Canada. This is among the worst I have tried in terms of the quality of its food, which was bland and unsatisfying. The dhal was the only saving grace. Can't speak about the regular menu, but avoid the buffet.

This is a restaurant for the non-adventurous. If bland Indian food appeals, this is your best option. It's a nice room, the service is fine, and if you don't like Indian food, you may enjoy the complete lack of spice offered here.

We stumbled upon Salam Bombay while searching for a place for dinner, and we were glad we did. The food is fabulous! The decor is elegant but not too stuffy. Service was quick and responsive. It was like finding a piece of London in downtown Vancouver.

We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and could not be happier with the food we had delivered. Everything was incredibly fresh and the flavors were deep and authentic. My wife and I have lived in India for long periods so know our stuff. This was the best Indian food we have eaten in North America, hands down!

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of the concierge in our hotel. Great food and friendly, helpful service. Although the restaurant was busy, we didn't have to wait long for our meals to arrive. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good quality, authentic Indian food in central Vancouver

We loved this Indian restaurant. It was recommended by our concierge. It's one floor up (stairs or elevator), and relatively quiet. We had chicken pakora as an app, that was a bit disappointing (a lot of chicken fat and skin, not a lot of chicken meat). We had the chicken dhansak (with yellow lentils) and the lamb kohlapuri. The portions... More
