I visited Vancouver for vacation and my tourist recommended Salam Bombay for authentic indian cuisine. In the restaurant I decided to order the lamb biriyani and butter chicken and many other items. The food, service, and value was excellent. If I ever went back to Vancouver I would most certainly eat at Salam Bombay again.

I don't know wether they had an off day or what but we did not enjoy the food at all. We are from india so understand Indian food very well and this was just below par even for an Indian restaurant abroad.

We went for lunch yesterday. Generally when I see a buffet lunch setup anywhere I run for the door. But my associates were already there. Trapped! Well LUCKY ME! The food was excellent! I went back a few times, they may up my charge next time I go! Which will be soon! Insider tip the curries are top quality!

Almost one year after my first visit to Vancouver, I have been to Vancouver again in the last month. Even before landing the city, that evening, I was craving to dine at Salam Bombay as the fabulous taste of the food has not left my memory yet. Food and service were excellent as expected...

A good restaurant with perfect location, comfortable interiors, courteous staff, approachable owner. All these matching with food variety and taste. All good things in life come with price tag. I did not know I could eat so much Indian food outside my home. Too happy, I forgot and forgave so many people on that day after dinner, even my weight... More

The restaurant has a fairly comprehensive menu reasonably priced. The food we ordered was quite good. The atmosphere was pleasantly quiet. The service was excellent.

Went there with a party of 14 without reservations, so it was nice to be able to get a table where we could all sit together. The service was unobtrusive but diligent. However the food was very average, especially when compared to Indian restaurants in the UK, and quite expensive for what it is on top of that.

14 Adults ordered 8 meals and shared. No appys or desserts. with drinks average $14 per person. I dont know what to say. I dont know where you eat in UK. Vancouver is an expensive city still our prices are reasonable. I have eaten in London and the good restaurants are expensive. Even good restaurants in India is equally expensive.... More

This place would be just average in any mid size North American city. But in Vancouver, a city filled with great restaurants, i would rank it sub ok. Food is rather bland, quantities small, service pleasant but perfunctory. And prices high.

This looks like a fake review intended to bring this restaurants ranking down You have made an account with tripadvisor few months back did one review and came back to put a bad review here. Looks like you came from ELPASO Texas and Salam Bombay is the only place you visited. No other restaurants you ate or hotel you stayed.... More

Just had a quiet dinner at the Salam Bombay in on Burrard St in Vancouver. Just walked in without a booking - no problems. Service was very friendly and professional. The food was authentic and very tasty. The level of spice was made to request without reducing the flavour and the masala chai tea was a great finish to a... More

The advertising board outside the door promotes the restaurant as offering contemporary indian cuisine, and the chef keeps the promise. You can have the traditional plates however a bit revisited with good results. I brought here a friend who was a novice of this cuisine, and he was very satisfied. We had a medium spicy menu including my favorite tandoori... More
