Best Middle Eastern food I've ever tasted!

If you're strolling around downtown Vancouver, be sure to stop by the Babylon Cafe! I've eaten plenty of falafel, hummus and tabbouleh before but none like this. My husband got chicken shawarma and he really enjoyed it as well.

Denman is a cool street in Vancouver with some great places to eat. This is one of them. If you have nice enough weather enjoy your food while sitting at their outside tables and people watch. Otherwise you will have some great take out food to take to the nearby beach. Yum!

My wife/I make the pleasant trip across the water from the Maritime Museum to the Aquatic Ctr at least 3-4 times each summer. A brisk walk along the sea wall perks up the appetite and a stop at this place is always a must and a treat. The meat is always wonderfully seasoned/cooked and the veggie fillings and sauces very... This place hums with activity from opening to closing. Food is priced right and tastes great. Service is efficient so, despite a high volume of business, you never wait long for your order. Its proximity to benches and parks makes it ideal for take away.

You can't go wrong grabbing a falafel here. Whether you eat at one of the few tables just outside or take the food to the beach (even better), you're going to enjoy your meal. The guys who work here are really friendly too. Reasonably priced delicious food with a view...it doesn't get much better.

Wonderful location down near English bay this wonderful hole in the wall restaurant always tops our list of the best schwarma and middle eastern food. The service is quick and to the point with little idle chit chat but they have a couple of little tables out front to watch the action of vancouver go by. Highly recommend.

Really good chicken shawerma. I would rate them as good as Ottawa shawerma so they are doing something right.

Friday afternoon around 1pm and Robson Street was packed. Was after a food truck but the line-ups were crazy. Popped over to Nelson to Babylon and ordered a Falafel with everything. No line up Crazy good wrap for $6.50. The Falafel is made in house and everything was fresh.

These are addicting.....hers is the chicken with no spice....mine the lamb with extra spice. Sit outside and drip over the sidewalk....massive portion of fresh ingredients and savory delight. With a can of pop....2 can dine for under $20. Be prepared to have to walk it off.

Having lunch as we explore the English Bay and the A-Maze-ing Laughter statues. The wraps were good and the staff were very friendly. We would be regulars if we lived close.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
