Place is nice, just different for my taste.

Rating is based on the bar alone. Bartenders there are super nice and are quick to make something new for you if you don't like one of their creations. They have some very unique drinks here, as in raw egg drinks, give it a try. Not a bad place, just not my cup of tea.

Eight of us walked in for a glass of wine and the place was empty. The bartender was no where in sight and when he did come out he didn't say a word or acknowledge us. We asked for water to start and he served us in dirty glasses. We decided to leave and he laughed in our faces.

The wall is covered in bottles if alcohol; how will the barman ever reach, you think. But he does, and he produces some unique cocktails, well blended and a pleasure on the palate. There is a good selection of food too: oyster specials, charcuterie cuts (including elk), cheeses. There is a different special every day.

Great bar on the corner of Seymour and Smithe. Large open windows to people watch from...I spent a lovely couple of hours here, solo, chatting with the bartender. Locals remarked that they often frequent Uva for the oysters.

Five stars all around. The first night, I went for the wine and stayed for the food. I went back the next 2 nights because the first night was so good. As a solo diner, I sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable about food, wines, Vancouver culture, etc. Each night, I had a different pasta dish... More

Service is excellent, ambiance is very pleasant, and prices are reasonable. Started our days off with espresso from the bar and it was quite good. Beans were very flavorful. Great place to stop by when you are staying at Moda.

Original plan was to go to Cibo, right next door. Since Cibo was full and Uva had the same menu, we went to Uva. It was Valentine's day and it was a little late for dinner. We walked in and were seated at a table near the entrance. The servers looked like they were overwhelmed. It took 22 minutes (on... More

The service and ambiance was exceptional! The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine and made excellent recommendations based on our tastes. This wine bar offers a small, cozy atmosphere with eclectic music. A great place to people watch and unwind! The waiter even bought us a glass of champagne when he found out we were celebrating our anniversary! Be... More

Uva is a little oasis in downtown Vancouver. I've never had a disappointing evening here. The most recent visit was with a girlfriend on an after work "must have wine and girl talk" night. It has the perfect ambiance for good conversation. As always the service was friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Love that you have the ability to share... More

This small little wine bar was the perfect place before a preformance at the Centre for Preforming Arts. The wine selection is well thought out, loved that they carried Le Stella and the cheese and meat plates offered varied selection of delicious boar, elk and pork.
