Splendid Wine bar

Uca's trick are the shaked and stirred cocktails. A good choice, combined with couple of plates of Charcuterie and Cheese contribute to an enjoyable evening. I would definitely return.

Unless you want to pay a fortune for drinks, this place is not for you. Both my mom & I ended up getting virgin drinks. BUT, the menu looked great (though we'd already eaten somewhere else). And the selection of drinks to order was phenomenal. That bartender must know what he's doing!

My husband and I recently visited Uva and we couldn't have been happier with the food, service and drinks. Our server's knowledge of the wine list was superb and he selected a spectacular Austrian Burgundy that perfectly suited our tastes. His knowledge extended out to personalized cocktails and snacks as well. Uva offers some excellent food choices. We sampled a... More

Uva was not our first choice but when our other choices turned out to be more night club than wine bar we diverted here. Drinks were awesome and the wine recommended was a disappointment but that was just a taste issue. The food was the big winner. Steak tartare was one of the draws and the subtle chili type of... This was my second visit to Uva Wine Bar in Vancouver. It continues to surprise me that this bar (generally) gets good reviews…..I don't mind spending $25 on two glasses of red wine….IF there is either something very special about the wine or the environment and/or the service…..I find that Uva is generally over-priced, the service is fairly slow, and... It was recommended we have a drink here as the owner is a consultant to many of the restaurant bars in Vancouver. I can see why. Her knowledge of mixed drinks hovers on the edge of alchemy. They are sublime in their subtlety and taste. This is a place where the drinks are highlighted and the appetizers are secondary. I... More

The cocktails here are excellent and a good reason to try UVA. This was also the high point of our visit. After waiting for 45 minutes for our octopus and beef tartar I asked the waiter (male waiter who was not the one making the cocktails) to cancel the order so that we could move on to the restaurant next... This might be a Wine Bar, but I stop by for Lauren Mote's creations; her cocktails are art for the palate. I simply can't say enough about the extensive cocktail list and the appetizer pairings. When in town, I make a point of stopping by.

Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
