6 of us ate at the Grub and ordered different meals. My daughter had told me how good the food was there and she wasn't wrong. I thought that the pizzas were a bit over priced for what was on them They offer vegan, vegetarian, and meatarian meals. Everything was so good and large quantities. Steak, duck, lamb, fish, the... This tiny place is really quaint and small. So make sure you make a reservation if you dont want to wait outside. The food is very tasty here. One of my guests complained their fish was too soft in the middle so if you dont like very tender slightly underdone fish order it well done. I ordered the ling cod... More

Alway enjoy going back to Grub. The fresh board is never the same and always impressive... and delicious. In probably 30 meals we've had there were maybe two iffy ones and the items were still good…just not great. Kudos to the chef/owner for keeping it going and offering such delicious and thoughtful creations.

Grub has great food at a good price. A strange ambience and irregular service, but great food. The daily fresh sheet always has something for everyone, from red meat to vegan and EVERYTHING in between. The vegan desserts are to die for and I ain't no vegan. They offer several yummy punch bowls in vintage glass. Order some just for... More

You will need a reservation. It's popular and quite small. They have a set menu for fish, red meat, vegan, veggie and a couple other choices. I'm a vegan surrounded by savages. The savages loved their meal and I really enjoyed mine. - Wish they would throw a couple bucks in to air condition it in the summer. They have... More

First, the cocktails, the Tommy Collins was as refreshing as a mojito but more complex. The sangria take-off was also a pleasure. The rockfish with scallops was perfectly prepared. The wine list is well chosen with a good selection of BC and imported wines. The service really stands out - friendly, "real" - not fawning but attentive. Limited number of... More

There was something about this place I didn't like but I can't pinpoint what it was. The food was ok but not memorable; I wouldn't order the southern dish again; I'd try something else. The only dessert we wanted was sold out and it was the only Vegan dessert. That was a big disappointment, I guess we should have voiced... More

Went to Grub after reading great reviews about the restaurant. As a chef myself, I pay attention to the small details when serving food. The first and foremost is hot food, my food arrived lukewarm, and the vegtables were actually cold, the plate also stone cold. I had ordered the steel head trout which was cooked very nicely, moist and... More

Really enjoyed my first experience at Grub, I will be returning! Quite a small space, seats maybe 26-30 people in the whole restaurant. When we arrived it was full sans for one table for 4 with a reserved sign on it. The server didn't hesitate to remove the sign and seat us there. (guessing someone was late for their reservation).... For the last 15 years, we 3 friends of old, meet to celebrate our birthdays. Sometimes it's a spa resort, a rented cottage on a gulf island, the beach, a whistler get away. This year, we had troubles coordinating our schedules and had to 'settle' for a dinner out. I knew the place was small, so when I made reservations... More
