We dined at Harambe Ethiopian restaurant for the first time this past Saturday evening. While it is definitely the most charming, in decor, than any other Ethiopian restaurant in Vancouver, I found it was only ok, in all other areas. The prices were much higher than we're use to paying at some of the other similar restaurants in Vancouver/Burnaby area.... More

Friendly service. Inexpensive. Interesting art work on the walls. Casual atmosphere. Very limited wine selection. We sampled a wide variety of food. Some dishes left us wanting for more, most were good to very good, a few were not to our liking. Glad we came.

This restaurant is great. We had never eaten Ethiopian food and this was very interesting experience. Four of us got the Veggie Combo, and the Chef's choice combo with a Reserva Oval Decanter of Tej Honey Wine. Ethiopian bread, Injera, is a bit of a aquired taste, but if you like sour dough anything, you will like Injera. The atmosphere... More

How funks it to eat with your hands and the tangy, membrane like, yummy injera bread from Ethiopia. The fun preparations have wonderful spices, great textures, color galore and it is all presented on a large stainless steel pan. The service is friendly and helpful but not overly attentive. The decor is African, Ethiopian, etc. Neat place, great food, good... More

I love the variety of dips you can get with your Ethiopian bread and it's veggie-friendly and you get unlimited bread. The service has been good the times that I've been and one of my favourite dishes is the red lentil dip.

We had two combinations of different dishes- one vegetarian and one with meat (the chef's recommendation). My vegetarian platter was okay, but the the quality of the meat my boyfriend had was so bad that he was not able to eat it (and he's not very picky). Unfortunately the service was quite miserable, too- when we received the bill we... More

This time I went with a friend to an Ethiopian restaurant. Already the scent in the room was very nice, full of spices. The waiter was friendly. We selected a meat/veggie combo for two (see picture). And it was great. Both of us enjoyed the meal. The atmosphere and the meal were far better than that what we experienced a... More

We've been going to Harambe's for years and each time we go, the food is just as delicious as the previous experience. It's time to share with you about this wonderful gem. The food is fresh, traditionally cooked and presented beautifully on a large round of injera bread for you to share together. You may also order mouth watering individual... More

Great Ethiopian food, decent ambiance, so-so service. But the food is worth it! Get the Chef's platter - you won't be disappointed. For $25.99 for 2 people, you get a variety of meat & vegetable stews served with injera, a type of flatbread with a naturally spongy texture. It's better than it sounds:) I've been several times and brought multiple... More
