We have eaten here a few times before, and always had a good experience, but our last visit was exceptional. Ambience good, restaurant was full but not too noisy. Service excellent - one waiter covered the whole place and did a great job. Food was fantastic - three appetizers and 4 entrees all had really distinctive and wonderful, bright flavours.... More

We have been to Saltspring Island many times over a thirty year period. Sad to say during that time we've seen many restaurants come and go--some beloved favorites. Upon arriving this time we discovered Auntie Pesto's Cafe--that aside from the bad pun for a name--is a first rate place for lovely Italian meals made from local produce, We started with... More

In August 2014 we had a meal at Auntie Pesto's Cafe and we returned for a take out meal while on a Saltspring weekend getaway in December. We were greeted cordially when we arrived at the counter and explained what we wanted. The server invited us to have a seat while we looked at the menu, and she even brought... More

Three of us went for dinner. We had a baked cheese that was tasty and the Pesto pasta was good. My squash and goat cheese stuffed pasta was so wonderful. It was a delight to all of us. Now my problem would be venturing further into the menu as I think I found heaven.

I loved my view over the harbor, and my grilled lime shrimp were great but quite expensive for their size, though admittedly they were billed as an "appi."

Had lunch here and had to come back for dinner, after checking out the evening menu. Limited but great wine list. However, the food is why you return! Surprising menu for the size of this place but then why would we be surprised...it's Saltspring Island!!!

Service was very good and portions were generous in size. The most creative dish was the popcorn Salt Spring Island Mussels which were tasty. Our garden mix and Caesar salads were fresh and delicious. The beef stroganoff and Roma penne with chicken were also yummy. You can order half orders of the pasta dishes which is a good idea.

We have visited Auntie Pesto's multiple times from breakfasts to lunch and evening dining. We held a graduation dinner there with a dozen guests and each time we have been there we were welcomed (usually by one of the owners) and served very, very well. The menu shifts with the seasons and there are always innovative specials - my favorites... More
