We dined hear the 2nd night of our stay on Salt Spring Island. Enjoyed the meal and our server was really friendly and accommodating, especially when the halibut entree came out severely over cooked - she took the pains to make sure I received a freshly prepared one even though the kitchen was almost closing (and I am sure the... Had a great halibut sandwich - wrapped in prosciutto with truffle mayo - good but at $22 a bit much. I know it's an island and it's good, so, if you go, be prepared for a largish tab.

Definitely a 'go-to' restaurant for most occasions. Always reliable. Nice deck overlooking harbour. Pleasant, friendly, courteous service. Good but not excessive menu choices. I live here, have visited several times and have never been disappointed. They "run a good shop".

Don’t be put off by the name: the menu is much more sophisticated than the name implies. One would expect more “home” cooking but we savoured the rack of lamb (which comes with 2 or 4 bones) and the local mussels. If the spinach salad is on the menu, order it Service is attentive and helpful. Good wine list, too.... More

Though I mostly eat at the cottage when visiting Salt Spring, when in town if at lunch or dinner time, I do make a point to eat at Auntie Pesto's Café. I was there just a week ago and though I am gluten intolerant, making eating out a real chore, they had a selection of gluten free pasta options, which... More

This is a place where they not only feed you well with imaginative and well prepared food, they are genuinly happy to see you. An impressive start. Situated near the water with good food is a confortable way to spend the evening.

We came here with family and friends when were first got off the ferry from Vancouver and it completely satisfied our hunger. We had a variety of soup and sandwich combos, and all of us enjoyed our meals. Definitely want to go back!

This restaurant was praised by every local with whom I spoke. So, even after a so-so lunch, I returned the next day for dinner. Excellent decision! The seared scallops on a bed of artfully carved daikon with pancetta and a saffron cream sauce was marvelous ($15). This was just the start of a beautiful meal. The fresh wild salmon, pan... More
