We visit Al's Falafel cart pretty much every time we visit the Saturday MArket on SSI. I LOVE the falafels; the thought of them makes my mouth water. The line can often be long, but it is well worth it because the food and the service have always been great for us!

Perhaps we were here on an off-day. It took forever for the people in the truck to acknowledge us, and longer to place an order (there wasn't a line, they just didn't look up). Then the order was wrong, and when we tried to explain, they ignored us again - just shrugged... the falafel and fries were ok.

Hi Mandy, I am very sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than what we would all hope to experience. In order to better understand, could you please tell me what date, time and location you were at? I would also be happy to discuss further with you if you wish. Thank you Al More

Fresh off the ferry, accompanied by two very hungry sons, we headed right for Al's to begin our culinary adventures on Salt Spring Island. Our guys were determined to try every poutine option on the island, and AL's was our first and favorite. The food is prepared fresh, arrives hot, and the flavors are bright. Sit at the picnic tables... More

First off, Alex is a great and friendly person that helped us with the menu. So great service and the falafel pitas were so good that I had it with my wife 2 days in a row for lunch. I didn't even choose the chicken which is amazing for me as I love my meats! The poutine was great as... More

Very good falafel. The husband enjoyed the poutine very much. I asked for pita chips and she gave me some for free as they were a bit old and broken, but still were delicious.

Thanks for the positive review and we are so glad you enjoyed our food! Sorry to hear about the chips being less than top quality. We should have had a fresh batch to offer you, rather than the broken end pieces. Hope you have a chance to try them at their best - they are delicious dipped into our fresh... More

I had read the reviews so when I saw Al's Falafel at the SSI Saturday market, I knew it would be good. Had the falafel wrap and it was great. Very fresh, probably the best falafel I've had in years!

Looked for something to eat at the Salt Spring Island Fall Fair yesterday. Saw Al's, stand out, trailer and read the menu. Ordered the Poutine. If you've never had Poutine (Chips or if you're from the States French fries) you need to taste an excellent example of this simple dish. It's fun food and it's Al Fresco at Al's.

If you see his funky food car in Ganges, you definitely have to stop and get yourself Al's Gourmet Falafel. It was so good and filling. It is truly a gourmet falafel.
