This is where you will find the Salt Spring locals meeting for a coffee or a casual lunch or breakfast. Consistently good food, Barb's always delivers excellent fresh baked goods (try the Ginger Twist or the Jalepeno Croissant) and the best Veggie Burger on the island. For those with colon issues, try the Bran Muffin-you'll be glad you did. Unpretentious... More

Barb's is something of a local legend. Excellent bakery and a diner attached. We've eaten here several times, and the food is always consistent. Great seafood chowder and excellent sandwiches. Good coffee. Service can be a bit slow and amateurish, but they seem to try hard.

I have eaten here dozens of times, mostly going for the comfort food of grilled ham and cheese on sourdough. Sometimes they even let me order the kind without ham off the kids menu. Ask for extra pickles if you are inclined towards pungency. If you tend towards something healthier, then the menu is chock full of salads, vegetarian and... More

We just got food to go, but we liked it very much. There is a café there, too. Also, our B&B served baked goods purchased here.

Not fan of the croissant but the sourdough baguette is fantastic even the day after. I also enjoyed the espresso. People are very friendly.

The food is great. Try the clam/salmon chowder - some of the best EVER. Sandwiches great - very busy so the service was slow.

Head for Barb's for breakfast, especially on Saturday when the market is on. Eat in, take out or outside. Wonderful granola, oatmeal and a whole array for pastries will suit everyone's palate

Love that they use local ingredients. The four of us ordered 4 different lunches, all were delicious. Would definitely go back when on the island

Had lunch at this restaurant while visiting salt spring island for Saturday market. Was a real surprise with a delicious halibut tortilla freshest tasty veggie salad and a chicken brie sandwich with fresh bread from the bakery. Highly recommend and would go back.
