We are both foodies! The breaky here is amazing and their lunches are too. There is a take out area to the left which have some amazing munchies to go, and to the right is a seated area that has service. It is always busy and you can understand why as soon as you eat there. Not a disappointment for... More

I tried this place after reading the views and bough cookies, bread and Ecles cakes to take away. We got to the ferry terminal and the chocolate chip cookie was ROCK hard and broke apart in a million pieces. I think the seagulls enjoyed it. Safeway's Ecles cakes are better! And the bread, well I will try if for toast... More

Barbs is a great open space with a variety of choices. There is good parking and lots of sun light with an out door patio. Its really lovely and a good choice for food "downtown"

Barb's is a combo of coffee shop/bakery and a light table service café/bistro. Open beam construction results in a large room with a fireplace centrally located. Coffee and baked goods are well done and reasonably priced. The table service section is sparse but a popular lunch spot for locals. The chowder is always excellent and the selection of grilled cheese... More

This is great place for breakfast or lunch in Ganges. You can have table service in the bistro with a selection of wholesome dishes or get coffee and a pastry in the bakery.

The food and service can be inconsistent, but when it's good, it's really good. And though inconsistent, it is never bad. If you want to experience Salt Spring, get a feel for the community vib, come to Barb's for breakfast or lunch. They have a consistently good salad, fresh local produce and home made dressing--wonderful. Before you leave, try the... More

I reviewed Barb's once before and indicated that the though the food is very good and reasonably priced, service can vary from very good to indifferent. Recently, I had a problem with a loaf of bread that I bought and took home, to find it was not 100% for us. I think someone forgot to transfer it to the day... More

Wonderful breakfasts and lunches. Love the fresh-squeezed juices! It can get crowded, so it's best to avoid the noon-to-one hour.
