A Disappointment!

I was excited to eat at this restaurant but my meal (fish and chips) was one of the worst I had. My husband's lamb burger was "just ok". The service, however, was excellent and so was the ambiance, otherwise I would have rated it less.

Disappointed. We both ordered the Alaska King Lobster at a price of approx $45 each and have to say it was very disappointing. Served with a large scoop of mashed potatoes, few grilled brussel sprouts :-( This place has potential because of its location and view. No table cloths, very casual dinning experience and service was not great. It was... More

Great place to eat if you can't get into the Treehouse cafe. We got so frustrated waiting for a table at the Treehouse cafe, that we went next door to the Oystercatcher. There was live music playing there as well which we really enjoyed--they had a guy playing a guitar and singing the golden oldies. Very enjoyable for my 60th... More

So we dropped by this place late in the afternoon after a couple ferry rides looking for nice meal. I should have read the previous review from Oshawa_wander. I too went directly to Treehouse Cafe after no one came by to seat us. At least 3 employees walked by us at the front and and none acknowledged our existence. Technically,... More

The best I can say about our experience at Oystercatcher Seafood Bar and Grill (Burger Bar 537) is that it's close to Tree-House Cafe. That's where we ultimately enjoyed a great lunch after waiting for over an hour on Oystercatcaher's Burger Bar 537 patio for a meal that never arrived. I especially appreciated it when they removed our empty beer... More

Having lived on Salt Spring a few years ago, we dined at The Oyster Catcher then and once a year now when we visit, I'm sorry to see the poor reviews that basically rate it as hit and miss. This is unfortunate because you can't beat the setting & the wait staff are always great. We dined this evening and... More

Delicious meals, great service and a fantastic view of the water. Restaurant is also big enough that we never experienced a wait.

The only redeeming aspect of our dinner was the server. She was very kind and understanding. Otherwise, the restaurant was understaffed and it took 20 minutes to even bring out my Pellegrino or dad's tonic water. I ordered a tuna salad and it was so bland and overpriced that I reluctantly sent back. My dad ordered the mussels and fries... More

Just off the ferry and found them while walking through Ganges. Took a while to get service, halibut and fries were OK. Nice view from patio.

We were a group of six, including a 3 yr old. The view is stellar, right on the marina where you can watch people walk by, boats enter and leave the marina, and float planes arrive and take off. It was early evening but very busy so there was no table for six. However, the wait staff was very helpful... More
