The patio at the Oystercatcher is undoubtedly one of the best on the island. Overlooking the harbor and equipped with fire pits it is just fabulous. Unfortunately it was a bit brisk while we were there but we sat in very comfortable leather chairs inside in front of the fireplace and were pretty happy. We had the lamb burger and... More

Great view and atmosphere---wished we could have sat outside but it was drizzling---but the firepit was blazing. Had seafood---mussels---have tasted better---but seafood chowder was excellent. We went at lunch time so service was good but only one waitress on.

Amazing view but terrible food and terrible service. Poor tourists get sucked in to the view and the look of the place but all the locals know not to ever go there. They have not improved at all over the years we have been here and the many occasions we have tried it again.

We went for a family supper. Two of the three salads were great. The servings were a good size and the meat included was ample. However, the Caesar salad was poorly trimmed and dressed, with tasteless croutons. At an additional $7 for the grilled chicken (1 small thin slice of pre-cooked chicken warmed up in the pan), stay away from... More

Our cycling group of 40+ are on the island for a weekend bike trip and made a reservation for 7 pm; we were all asked to pre-order. As of this writing, it is now 8:30 and we still have no dinner. Meanwhile, a table of 4 came about 45 min ago and they have been eating and are almost done.... More

Food really good, but to expensive. Service was great. Waterfront location is nice. They have a safety hazard with the waiters stepping over a 1.5 stone wall to service the customers seated next to the water.

We visited Saltspring Island this past Fri by boat. We were going to the oystercatcher for desert when my husband tripped over the short rock wall that boarders the property along the walkway. He fell hard...taking out a person sitting in a chair at a near by table (sorry to whoever you were). He cut open his toe and skinned... More

In order to prevent others from having a similar experience I have decided to write this decidedly negative review of the Oystercatcher on Salt Spring Island. My husband tripped over some stones which are on the perimeter of the patio area and did a face plant on the wooden dock. There was nothing to indicate that this was in fact... More

We enjoyed sitting at the marina, listening the folk singer. I had halibut fish tacos. Good service and ambiance. We liked it.

We took a trip to Salt Springs Island to experience the laid back atmosphere. After taking the ferry from Victoria, we walked around the harbor and admired boat of all kinds. We happened upon the Oystercatcher for a late lunch. Although they were very busy with all of us tourists, the wait staff went way beyond to please everyone with... More
