We visited Saltspring Island this past Fri by boat. We were going to the oystercatcher for desert when my husband tripped over the short rock wall that boarders the property along the walkway. He fell hard...taking out a person sitting in a chair at a near by table (sorry to whoever you were). He cut open his toe and skinned... More

In order to prevent others from having a similar experience I have decided to write this decidedly negative review of the Oystercatcher on Salt Spring Island. My husband tripped over some stones which are on the perimeter of the patio area and did a face plant on the wooden dock. There was nothing to indicate that this was in fact... More

We enjoyed sitting at the marina, listening the folk singer. I had halibut fish tacos. Good service and ambiance. We liked it.

We took a trip to Salt Springs Island to experience the laid back atmosphere. After taking the ferry from Victoria, we walked around the harbor and admired boat of all kinds. We happened upon the Oystercatcher for a late lunch. Although they were very busy with all of us tourists, the wait staff went way beyond to please everyone with... More

Wonderful location but sadly that is pretty much all you get. The food is average and often cold. The service is inadequate. The bar is attrocious. Go for a drink( be patient) and enjoy the view.

This is a great little place beside the harbor. We sat outside enjoying the view and the burgers once they arrived. Our server was busy and distracted. I had to ask him for menus and water. He did have a good sense of humor about it all though and I couldn't be too cross with him.

This restaurant is in a great location overlooking the harbour with outside seating but the food was poor and overpriced. Our 2 children (10 and 12) each had the adult sized fish and chips. The portion size wasn't big and the fish was poorly battered and dry. We had a sharing portion of nachos that was huge but tasteless and... More

My companion & I had a wonderful lunch at The Oystercatcher. The service was attentive, friendly & relaxed. Our food was tasty, delicious & filling. The homemade donuts with caramel & strawberry dipping sauces was THE best dessert ever! The outdoor patio was relaxing to sit & watch the boats & the people. A great way to unwind and get... More

My friend and I recently visited the Oystercatcher on our day trip to Saltspring Island. It had a great view of the harbour but that is where the great ended. We walked in and no one told us where to be seated. The fellow at the door pointed down the hall and we ended up at the entrance to the... More

Nice spot overlooking the harbor at Ganges. I was cool and damp this day and the outdoor fire pits were warm and welcoming. Food and service were both pretty good.
