Cuisines: Seafood
Description: We should have left the minute we walked into deserted Dave’s Oyster Bar, but the Cow Bay Cafe was full and we wanted to enjoy the rare sunny evening outside (plus it was on the way back to our hotel). We were shown to a table on a deck overlooking the sea where the previous occupant had artistically painted the banister with greasy hands, leaving bits of crisps stuck to the glass. Music was blaring so loudly from the loudspeaker that we couldn’t hear ourselves speak. We ordered oysters, salad and wine from the very restricted menu. They took ages to materialise and when they did we wished they hadn’t. The wine was OK, but the oysters were so badly chucked they looked more like mucus (though thankfully they tasted OK) and the salad was so old it had begun to oxydise. The only reason it was edible was because the strong sauce masked the taste though it couldn’t hide the soggy salad edge leaves. Never again.

I was disappointed on the customer service, heard it was good food, but wouldn't know since after 2.5 hours, we decided to leave, all we got a chance to order was appetizers and yet they were overwhelmed. Sad cause it looks like it has potential, just lacking the details. Very sad that the customer service wasn't better, otherwise we might... More

This place has a great view of the harbour and has a very relaxed atmosphere. The service is always great!

Had oyster sampler and oyster burger. Decent looking menu, was saddened to hear that place is for sale. Unfortunately it shows. Even though oysters were delicious, it seems like they were shucked in a rush. There were shell chunks that I kept picking out of my teeth. Soda was flat, but that was not a big deal. This place needs... More
