Perhaps the most exciting thing at market is the wafting smells of fresh bread and pastries beckoning you to Penticton's Farmers Market Stand, Walla Foods. I am never disappointed with the consistent quality that Walla brings to the table (literally) each and every time. Returning recently from Europe, I find that Walla foods surpasses my many indulgences both here in... More

This past weekend, I was passing through Penticton and my priority was to stop at the Penticton's Farmer's Market to eat Walla's goodies. I have frequented this little cafe regularly when I lived in Penticton but have never had the chance to sample the goodies that are made for market. So here is my review: It started with a cheese... My boyfriend and I stopped here on our day trip to Penticton and loved it! The food was absolutely delicious and the man who worked there and made the food was super nice! I will definitely be back when I come back to Penticton! Best lunch I've had in a long time!

I had dropped by myself to find no one there for lunch. I ordered the soup and bread combo and was also served pickled green tomatoes. This was such a great meal I took my whole office later and we all raved at the presentation, and excellence of the food. Everyone of the 6 of us will be back and... More

I saw good reviews for Walla, and we were hungry, so we followed the directions to this "hole in the wall" cafe, and we were AMAZED by how good the food was. Very classy, and friendly gentleman running the store, we bought a bunch of stuff from the farmer's market as well as it was awesome as well. Can't wait... More

My husband and I eat here often and we have never been disappointed with anything we have tried. Every morsel is a labour of love and you will be rewarded for the amount of time the chef puts in to each dish. Real food made with real ingredients the old-fashioned way - but you won't find a BLT on white... More

Lovely bread of all varieties, the baklava is very tasty and the cinnamon/hazlenut meringue was divine. They don't open for breakfast - brunch is the earliest you can get to sit down and eat.

Once a week we go to WALLA Artisan Bakery & Cafe and spend time buying different kinds of breads. We cannot last a week without these delicious breads and pastries!! We have been a customer for many years, serving the bread at our high-end Bed & Breakfast/Guest House, and the guests always ask us where to find the bread we... More

Some previous posts are hard to believe. I arrived today around 1:30. A somewhat embarrassed owner told me he quit making gluten-free bread (highly-touted in previous posts). And doesn't serve lunch until June 3 . . . He offered me a free bun so I wouldn't go hungry, nice gesture. He looks like he really cares. But this is not... More

How the previous posters could claim their enjoyment of the food, service and ambiance at this establishment is beyond my imagination. 'Yes, some previous posts are hard to believe.' It must be a conspiracy on a grand scale. 'But this is not a restaurant; it's a little bakery that serves some food.' Which also happens to spread across 1,300 sf.... More

Stopped by based on all the positive reviews here. Was not disappointed. I had the pastrami sandwich which is smoked by the chef and it was the most delicious pastrami ever. The portion was large as well so worth the $13. Also on the plate homemade pickles, homemade sauerkraut, and other compliments for the sandwich. It was amazing. The small... More
