Don't expect great views, or a great wine selection at a bakery with a several of tables, just expect really good food with wonderful presentation. Ben, the waiter, dishwasher, and aspiring baker, is a reserved individual who opens up and cracks a few smiles when he talks about food and if you can't feel his passion, you must have some... More

I visit Walla once per week and have had the pleasure of experiencing almost everything on the menu. You really can't get better good at a fair price.

We both had the best pastrami sandwich ever. Very tasty, tender and juicy on a focacia bun. Benjamin served this giant heap of food (enough for two) with Dijon mustard, something hot, home-made pickles and horseradish, and fresh local tomatoes, sourced from a proud farmer. The pastrami sandwich was served with beautiful elegance. When we ordered, we thought $15 was... More

First thing was a warning from the owner, "This is not grocery store bread you know!" Boy was he right about that! We paid over $13 for two loaves of bread and one was from the freezer! The one and only fresh "Loaf of the day", was rye. Our next option was freezer bread; so we chose a hard-as and... More

Yup , I've seen this childish behavior before (see earlier review "No gluten-free, no lunch"): entitled adults belonging to the 'instant gratification generation,' whose motto is "'I deserve it, I want it my way, and I want it now!" If I don't get what I want I will stomp my foot and throw a tantrum.. . .By the way, Len;... More

Again & again we have been to this great family bakery. Everything is good. Great service and inexpensive. Best Cream of Cauliflower soup I ever had. Outstanding bread with the tastiest garlic butter I've ever tasted. But the pastry & cookies are what really separate these guys. They make the best pumpkin pie you will ever eat. Danish? Check -... Walla is the most understated but delicious eatery in Penticton. Ben the proprietor and baker gives you his love on a plate. Everything in his restaurant he has made himself. He smokes his own meat, makes his own pickles, mustards, sauces bread and treats. He has invested his time in all of it. He slow rises his breads, give you... More

Stumbled upon this cafe in the Cannery. Food was fantastic. So fresh and made on site with quality ingredients. Fresh bread, meat, even the pickles! Great service too!

Infused with loving care, everything I've ever tasted at Walla's leaves me wanting more... The only problem? If you're like me, and you appreciate the idea of leftovers for easy next day lunches, you may be out of luck. It"s not that the focaccia, almond croissants, or chocolate babkas aren't big enough, they are simply too tasty to survive beyond... More
