Delicious German fare

I have been here a couple of times, most recently with my boyfriend and both times the food was fabulous and the service diligent. The food is quite heavy, so this is a special occasion place for me.

On a recent trip to Vancouver, we stopped at the Old Bavaria Haus for dinner. They had a large menu of German cuisine with choices for everyone (gluten-free, vegetarian, no lactose). Besides the menu items they also had a special of the day that my husband ordered and raved about. The day we were there, it was a house salad... More

After being posted to Germany for 6 years of my military career this reminded us of being back in Europe. The decor was very authentic and cozy. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. The potions are very large and Tasty. The best German cuisine we have had since returning 20 years ago.

This place offers exactly what you'd expect. Bavarian food with German beer in a typical Bavarian setting. The meat, potatoes and cabbage are awesome and very reasonably priced. Portions are big. Their draft beers are great too. For dessert we split a piece of Apfelstrudel, which was very tasty and authentic. Bonus for vegetarians: plenty of options for you too!... More

With a very wide variety of schnitzels -- including a cordon blue! -- delectable spatzel, and some of the thickest, tastiest bratwursts you've ever seen outside of the Fatherland, you shouldn't miss this almost solitary taste of Germany. The staff is efficient, funny, and pleasant, and the wine list is excellently selected to complement the offerings. Gross Gott!

I love this place. Growing up in a German family, you just gotta love the staples of meat, potatoes and cabbage. I LOVE their meat, potatoes AND cabbage (go figure). Every time we go everything is seasoned so and cooked properly, everything is hot from the kitchen. We're always sat promptly, I have NEVER had to wait. I love their... More

Took my son, sister and brother in law. Brother in law not versed with German food but enjoyed the triolet schnitzel. Large servings. My son the had the spatzle and he is picky. Had the rouladen with red cabbage spatzle. Very good. Sister had a schnitzel and it was almost too much to finish. Beautiful building blocks off Columbia. Chocolate... More
