We were a group of four (2 couples) that came in for a milestone bday dinner. To start service was slow! We must of sat there at least 10-15 min before I asked someone to take at least our drink and appy orders. Things started to improve thereafter. We had the beergaritas (wow, delicious and made us all tipsy!) and... More

I love this place! It's yummy and def the place to go to get your Mexican food fix. It's like being back in Mexico :) they recently extended their restaurant which is nice because they get line ups from time to time. The staff is friendly and always a good experience

I was one of the very first customers to try Taqueria Playa Tropical when they opened almost 2 years ago in New West. We continued to eat there on a regular basis and were happy when they announced the addition of space to allow for more seating and availability. The first two times we visited after the reno were a... More

Great food and price. Felt like we were in Mexico with a Corona and the massive Burrito. My wife had the Fajitas. Both were excellent and we couldn't finish. Service was also good.

Went for dinner with some friends. Food was spectacular and very affordable. They have a drink called tropicalita. ...it's a must. They are expanding, therefore less waiting at the door.

The atmosphere in this restaurant made me feel like I was on a holiday. The service was wonderful and the restaurant it clean, cute and fun! The food...oooooh the food...it was dynamite! I highly recommend the tacos (the steak one is amazing) and the monster burrito is just that...a monster in size and taste!!!! Good luck finishing it in one... More

Stopped by for an early dinner and was very happy with the Chicken Tostatas. My husband had the 3 Taco dinner & enjoyed it also. Reasonable price & fairly quick service, because we were ahead of the dinner rush. Was starting to get busy as we were leaving, so go early or be prepared to wait. A friendly, down home... More

Hoped to find good Mexican enchilada. Both the red and green sauce was not good. Tasted very sour and like out of a can. The chicken enchilada itself was just doable and not much cheese on it nor much of sour cream either. Too much of the refried beans and the rice. Could have cut down on those two items... More

Not everything is Mexican; a little bit of Madrid; a little bit Honduras; But everything mixed in my order was good. My friends and I enjoyed the taste. I ordered a meal that came with fried fish ( halibut), mushed beans, and rice, with tacos. While the meal could be supply you with more carbohydrates, the portions were just excellent... More

Finding a good, authentic Mexican food place in BC is tough. The popularity of chain 'Mucho Burrito' is proof of that. Many places use packaged flour tortillas, pre-made ingredients, and the end result is so-so. Taqueria has all the great aspects of a Mexican restaurant. Great food, good service, and if you show up on a Friday or Saturday night... More
