Great beer and a nice vibe

Food and beer were great after a long travel day. Owner was very nice and accommodating, local guitar player playing music was excellent. Would definitely go back.

I have avoided this restaurant for a few years; the name was a real turn off and I judged the food to be as uninteresting as the name. Well, it turns out that the food and the service is in fact excellent. I had a starter for a main course - which was small - so had their peach pie.... More

We have lived in Nanaimo since fall, 2014 and have been consistently pleased with the casual sevice and food quality. The owner, Tony, is almost always present and accommodating. The home made berry pies are wonderful.

Back in Nanaimo and re-visited Acme (last time in Nov 2014). Rated it highly then, and it has maintained that standard. We were in town for the theatre, and looking for a good meal before the show. Acme did not disappoint. This is definitely an excellent choice for seafood, and other options are available. The dishes were nicely spiced, enough... More

Poor quality food and drinks. Everything was very bland and colorless and Cesar salad was drenched with bad dressing. Seems they really cut corners on quality. Poor presentation - and uncomfortable atmosphere. Bleak view. Live jazz downstairs in a small, dank, dark room...So many staff for no customers...and they still served us our order wrong.

A friend and I were at the Convention Centre and had some time to kill so we went to ACMe for a quick bite. I had been there years earlier when it was a fabulous Sushi restaurant. Things have changed. It's now a mediocre lunch joint with a decent lunch but inexcusable physical condition. The floors are cracked tile, the... More

Went there for lunch with friends. We had put our orders in ahead of time to minimize wait time and help accommodate a larger group. Ordered a meal sized salad and had to ask for the dressing as it never arrived with the salad. Salad was fresh but served in a bowl that made it hard to mix the dressing... More

Our lunch visit to the Acme Food Company was our first visit to this centrally located Nanaimo restaurant. From the outside (particularly because of the "Acme Food Co" neon sign above the front doors) it appeared to be yet another Earls-Keg-Milestones-Cactus Club-esk place, however, it became immediately apparent as soon as we stepped in through the doors, that this was...
