This is in reference to the new Baby Salsa Express on Terminal Ave. It's a shame that it carries the same name as the parent company is I've heard the actual restaurant is quite good. This unfortunately doesn't carry over to this "fast food" version. Now, I'm not saying that I didn't expect this to be of lesser quality than... More

We have been here a few times now. Worth going back to. A varied interesting menu. And they make Chillies Relleno in a style that I like. This is most often a family celebration outing for us. A little pricey, but about at a par with Boston Pizza rates. We had cheese stuffed hot peppers for one person, I had... More

This small restaurant tucked away in the University Village Shopping Center amazed us with the quality of its Mexican food. The chiles rellenos surpassed those that we have eaten in Mexico and the nachos were perfectly served with refried beans, sour cream, salsa and avocado. The service was excellent and we would rate this as one of the best restaurants... More

Overall tasteless food for Mexican. No spice or anything. Super bland. Expensive for portion sizes and quality. Rice was old and stale.

Not authentic Mexican food, but not bad for Vancouver island! Service was uninterested, probably won't be back!

My husband and I have spent several winters in La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico and this is authentic Mexican food. The complimentary house-made tortilla chips and fresh salsa are to die for. Worth going for those alone. Today I ordered the Tortilla Soup, it was delicious, a flavourful tomatoey broth with lots of chicken, topped with crema and queso fresco and... More

Loved the food here! Had a shrimp quesadilla with salad and it was excellent! Lots of shrimp and cheese. Only sad thing was, they don't have a place in Parksville, B.C. Spouse had burrito with rice and avocado, shrimp. Again, excellent!

Waitress wouldn't come around even though the place wasn't busy at all! Expensive small portioned salad, tacos tasted great, but again small portioned. Will not return, will not recommend

First time here, was thinking Mexican and punched up reviews, Gina's or Baby Salsa, BS had an extra star so went there. Small cafe in a shopping centre with a nice Mexican theme. Service was good and the owner looked after us. Explained a few things and as we chose she brought us salsa and warmed, large, tasty chips....chips nice... More

Took twenty minutes to get my food to my table even though I could see it ready to go out, rice undercooked, and hard as rock, nachos soggy (with hardened cheese on top) and to boot there was a hair in my (cold) food, as well the staff were to busy socializing with each other to notice me whenever I...
