food was very good, we have been there a few times. Service was great, helpful and quick. Selection was varied, something for everyone.

Simon Holt is one of our regular dining spots. We have never been disappointed by their cuisine and the staff are always very pleasant and obliging. A scratch kitchen is, unfortunately, a bit of a rarity these days. And their meals are often quite imaginative, as well. We all have our favorite meals but there is much scope to try... More

I was due for jaw surgery in the morning which meant no real food for 3 weeks, so my husband told me I could have whatever I wanted. I was thinking I'd like steak and we'd been wanting to try SimonHolt so, I dressed up a little and off we went. We both liked the atmosphere and our waitress was... More

Not from Nanaimo and searched on line for gluten free. looked Ok so decided to try it. We had an excellent meal. Our server Lucas was excellent, attentive but not intrusive and knowledgeable for my gluten friend. Lots of gluten free choice a very enjoyable meal. We will return for sure!

I met with a couple of friends, the service was horrible, the food and drink was extremly overpriced and I ended up with food posioning. The one good thing about it was the live band that was playing were really good. I have not and will not go back

Portions a little small for the ticket price. I like to see the meat on my burger. Fries were good though.

We ordered take-out from Simonholt to take back to our hotel after a long day. The wait staff were very kind and they were able to accommodate my gluten-free needs, which is wonderful! My husband got a burger with poutine and I got a gluten-free burger with a salad. Unfortunately, both burgers were very dry and had very little 'dressing'... More

Went for dinner a couple of nights ago. Have tried it before and was not impressed but it was handy to where I live, so thought I'd give it another chance. But the noise was still incredible even tho it wa far from full and we were not impressed with the food. Unfortunately I felt ill all night. So won't... More

As a locally owned, non-chain restaurant Simon Holt has been one of my family's favourites here in Nanaimo for years. In the past year, we have stopped going every weekend as we used to because the service just wasn't what it used to be, and the food quality has been slipping. I used to be blown away by how attentive,... More
