We ate here because of the good reviews but were disappointed. We both had quiche. While portions were large (too large in my view), the quiche was tasteless. Perhaps other menu items would have been better but I am not sure I am going to try to find out.

I went there for lunch to-day and was totally disappointed. I had a smoked meat sandwich on a Kaiser bun. The meat had no flavor, the bun was soggy and the whole lunch was look warm. The Bratwursts looked like they have been in the steam table for hours. Dried out and no color. At one time you could get... More

We have been to Kelowna several times and have always passed this restaurant by, and I don't know why, because I love the chubby, cheerful little statue of the smiling Chef standing outside. However, this time we decided to stop for lunch and it was delicious. Great soup and sandwiches and large portions. Had we known the portion size we... More

I always visit this place when I go tco Kelowna, and they never disappointed me. Great atmosphere and very friendly service. I especially like their borcht soup (sometimes i drive for that soup from Kamloops) Very limited menu but every item listed is exceptional. Wood logs and german music give this place a special ambiance. Will be back when i... More

I had the smoked meat on a kaiser and it was phenomenal. Partner had the bratwurst and said it was okay. His onions that came with the meal were questionable. The girl at the register was rude to my partner, but I knew the sandwich would make up for it :)

When I first walked into this bakery, upon recommendation from my girlfriend who has been around Kelowna for a while, I had uncertainty about the size of the menu. It's straightforward and simple, but after eating lunch there, let me assure you that when I say simple, I don't mean it with any negative connotivity. My sub was superb, as... More

Great food? yes. But not very refined. That said, I very much enjoyed the ham hock served with a large mound of sauerkraut and a bun. Definitely worth a try, probably not for everyone.

We first visited this place 2 years ago as we passed through kelowna on vacation and LOVED! The food... which makes this all the more disappointing. We have tried to return but the hours are horrible! Last weekend (traveling through) we hurried in to arrive at 3:02 and despite the place being full of patrons they turned us away saying... More
