I always stop in during an annual pilgrimage to K'town. My preference is the cod but the halibut is also wonderful. The price is reasonable and good value. Do yourself a favor if you appreciate english styled fish and chips.

My wife and I were walking in the area and was feeling a tad tired. Feeling skive we saw Shady's. We heard this place is the dog’s bollocks so we decided to check it out. The place is very vintage with the old style cash register that you saw back in pioneer days and that old chip stand look. Old... More

We were told about this place by our hosts at the B&B we were staying at. They told us not to be fooled by the outside appearance of the place that the food was great. They were right! Not being locals we chose to eat there. They only have three tables and a bar to sit at. While we sat... More

Enjoyed this old fashioned fish & chip shop. Agree with other reviewers about the batter being heavy but ask and they will do a light batter. Chips were excellent. Very reasonable prices. Nice to see take away wrapped in newspaper!

Prices aren't bad, but with the thick batter we were asking where was the fish? Overall too greasy for our liking, but on par with most places we visited in Great Britain. We won't be eating here again.

Formerly grew up in Kelowna & have always enjoyed the Halibut & chips. The joint has been around for approx. 6o years so decor is basic so if one is expecting linen & silver cutlery you will be very disappointed. But if you are going for fish @ chips enjoy! I make a point of going every time I go... More

Had high hopes for this place which I stumbled upon while out walking the dog yesterday. Made a point of returning for takeaway later in the day. The venue's got great character (the 100 year old cash register, the almost as hold Pepsi-Cola bottle dispenser, the decor generally), the prices weren't what I'd call great, but if the quality was... The neighbourhood ain't great (some hyped up local abused our small group of four because we were discussing the difference between "fries" and "chips") - but that's not the shop's fault - just the neighbourhood. Fish and chips were pretty darn good and as a couple we shared a large serve of Halibut & Chips. Along with a coleslaw it... More

Takes me back to Coney Island fish and chips, White Rock in the '60s. From the 100+ year old cash register to the chest style cooler for beverages. The fish and chips were heavenly! Suprisingly grease free. Fresh fish and the tastiest chips in Kelowna. We will be regulars.
