We were extremely disappointed to find that Le Plateau Bistro closed its doors in January 2013. Reviews on Trip Advisor and UrbanSpoon were very positive and reviewer John Gilchrist called it a treasure. Strangely their website is still up and their phone still has a welcoming message, although their voice mail box is full. We were sad to see "For... More

We had not heard about this restaurant before a friend suggested we go for dinner there, so I reviewed it and the reviews were very good. However, that was not the case for some of us. The menu was very very limited, the prices were high and my chicken was so salty I could hardly eat it! I ordered a... More

This is our new favourite restaurant. Whoever created these dishes has a great flair for presentation, but more importantly a tremendous palate. On the lunch menu, the crepes were great, as was the croque-monsieur. Onion soup was quite flavourful. However, the warm asparagus salad with a soft boiled egg, breaded then deep-fried was nothing short of genius. We will have... More

Great food, service and wine. Not a huge fan of the music. Nice decor and lighting. Great value as well

We have been to the restaurant a few times. This was the first time we were disappointed and it will likely be our last visit. There was a group of 8 of us there on Saturday night. We made reservations a couple of days in advance so they knew we were coming. Most of us had an appetizer and they... More

Dined here for the first time - very good food and a nice relaxing atmosphere with just 7 or 8 tables. Very nice alternative to going downtown for dinner with easy parking. Crab cakes were excellent as was the bouillabaisse.

You can tell this could be a good place, although our experience wasn't quite that good. The excellent waiter confirmed the red wine was served at the appropriate temperature of 16-18 C, which requires some chilling. Far too many restaurants don't bother with this. This was a good start, along with the crab cake which may be the best we... More

I just discovered this off-the-beaten-path gem. Great French food. Great music. Great atmosphere. There are only 7 or 8 tables though, so definitely a good idea to reserve a table. Also a great venue for parties, since it only takes about 40 people (seated) to fill the whole restaurant. Also a great local wine selection.
