I have been to this restaurant in Harrison many times and it never disappoints. It is not fine dining; just consistent and good. The schnitzel portions are huge! If you can agree on one to split, they will split the order in the kitchen for an upcharge and you both get all the sides - well worth it. The spatzle... More

Good food and good service. Booked on line through open table. We liked the bread, the schnitzel, the sausages and the red cabbage.

Found a spot to sit in the popular patio, facing the beach. Seated right away, drinks on their within moments if siting down. We were wanting just a light meal so Caesar Salad & Lentil Soup was ordered. They were both tasty & served quickly. Waitress, Kelly, warmed up to us once we started to chat with her.

The Schnitzel here was decent and my daughter liked her bratwurst and carrots but the meal was marred by awful people cursing at the next table and more rude service. And the bill was exorbitant. At least the beer was good.

Growing up in Germany and expecting a taste of my homeland after reviewing the feedback , I can honestly say ..disappointing ! My French onion soup was flat and boring , missing the acidity of the burgundy , the smoothness of the gruyere cheese and the crispness of the bread . Not to mention the two bay leaves I found... thank you Black Forest. Took a group of 34 for lunch today. Our group included a few people who use wheelchairs. Our bus was late arriving. We had to rush our lunch. Black Forest was terrific. The food - pork schnitzel with perfectly steamed veggies and hot red cabbage; meat or cheese pasta; bratwurst with saurkraut - all were delicious... More

Home made, fresh cooked meals, outdoor, beach front dining... This was the best German restaurant we've ever been to! We had the schnitzel (huge portions), prepared fresh and hot, Roulade (delicious), bratwurst (mmm).. it's not a cheap meal, but is definitely worth the money.
