The Cow Cafe patio is the perfect summer venue for drinks with friends or that special someone. I enjoyed it several times over the summer and was impressed with the view every time - mountains, houseboats, boats and kayakers. The drinks are tasty and the mussels are to die for - mmm so delicious! The service was a bit slow... More

Although the inside restaurant is rather bare and a bit shabby, the outside deck (as others have noted) has terrific views. The service is pleasant and helpful. The prices were mid-range -not too expensive but not cheap either. For us, the food was mediocre. We had halibut, mixed salad, and the yam fries. None of the food was spectacular, but... More

Most of the offerings are quite good and reasonably priced here. The notable exception is their calamari dish which is gawd awful - terrible quality overcooked calamari with cheap pickled peppers spread over top. How creative is that? Gotta dig that deck though.

Had a fantastic Seafood Platter for two at a reasonable price, great priced wine list, great service and a beautiful view. We loved it so much we almost went back again our second night there. We will be going back for sure!

Food here is great! Fresh and well prepared. The halibut fish and chips on special is to die for! Service, just average. Kitchen is very very slow, so be ready for a long wait for your food. However the view outside on the deck is to die for, so bring your friends or loved ones and just enjoy being outside... More

After eating here for the past 5 years on a regular basis, it's time for a review. Surprised to see only 2 reviews here so far. Sunday during the Prawn Festival, my partner and I enjoyed a lovely meal on their patio with the great view of the bay and Mt. Tzou. Cheapest pour of Guinness anywhere (when on special)... More

Great place to eat. The food is excellent and so is the service. A great view from the deck. Parking is very crowded and not a pleasant experience.

We visit the Cowichan Valley 5 - 6 times a year and almost every time we go to Cow Bay Cafe. Their food is so good and the service friendly. I almost always have the chowder - award winning several years and counting - and we have also had their $5 burgers, fish and chips and wings. Every thing as... More
