Rain or Shine, this cafe is divine!

My husband and I stumbled upon the Genoa Bay Cafe on a sunny day last summer as we were meandering around Duncan, BC. The calamari was so memorable that we made a point of returning this summer. Though cool and rainy, we were warmly welcomed by Gord and staff. Of course the calamari was excellent... read more

My family stayed the weekend in nearby Cowichan Bay, and found a fellow with a boat who arranged to bring us to Genoa Bay for breakfast then take us back to Cowichan Bay when we were done. It was a definite highlight -- the café owners stayed open especially for us. I'd like to go again when the actual café... More

We generally love the food here, but have had some odd encounters with staff. Not enough to discourage us from eating there; the wasps in the summer are more discouraging: don't eat outside midday!

After a friendly welcome, we enjoyed the best meal meal we've had in many years. We will definitely be back!

If you are thinking of going to dine here in high season I recommend that you book as it gets very busy. If you are dinning early, about 6 ish and the weather is good it is very nice to dine outside overlooking the lake, but any later it's best to eat inside as there will be a chilling breeze... More

Lovely ambience, Great food. Be careful not to order an apply as they serve nam bread with a featured dip which our server didn't tell us about. We ended up with too much food and had to leave half eaten. Book early as it is a small restaurant. Has outdoor seating, but no cover so can be wet and cold.... More

So beyond anything that I would have expected at this little out of the way place. Beautiful scenery with food that rivaled some of the best we have eaten anywhere. We are going to make this a special place for special events ... may need to "create" some just to have reasons to go back.

Very good meals for all 4 of us. Great margaritas, and creme brulee trio for dessert. Nice table on the patio, seals and ducks to watch. Highly recommend.

This is a great little restaurant that sits at the end of the road on a bay. Very romantic! The food is decent but nothing to write home about. Prices are reasonable and the service is good and friendly. I have been 6 or 7 times and always enjoy it. Recommended!

We have eaten here any times and the next time is always as good as the last! Great food, great service, great location. They always make you feel very welcome and will accommodate food preferences and allergies where able. Good sized portions that are so tasty you don't want them to end. The carrot cake is always a favourite to... More
