The Monte Cristo sandwich was great - I'd go back across the country to have another. Back in January '15 - see you then!

Don't let the building stop you from going in. The food is great and the servings large. Good breakfasts and burgers.

I used to enjoy the Arbutus Cafe when I lived in the area, but haven't been in years. I just phoned to find out if they were open tomorrow(Sunday) of Remembrance Day long weekend as I'll be up that way, and the man who answered the phone was very short with his answer and hung up on me! I have... More

We enjoyed this little restaurant. The staff was friendly and quick, the atmosphere suggested many eating were regulars. The decor was kind of funky...no fancy designer here. Well suited to the kind of eating establishment this is. We\ve had both breakfast and lunch here and were happy with both. Good portions delivered in a timely fashion and obviously fresh....no sitting... More

Stopped here for breakfast on the way to Nanaimo from Victoria. What a cute little cafe in a great little town. And the food was better than any breakfast we had in Victoria. Had the combo and it was delicious. A def recommend if you are passing through or in the neighborhood.

Not all that impressed with the Café, we had good food but I am not sure that they have a cleaner who wears glasses as the bathroom was not clean.

it is just a feel good place to go with down home country cooking. People are friendly and it is easy to find, good to park and walk around all the old stores down town.

This is a long established funky fun restaurant. It is a favourite stop of locals and visitors. This is a handy place to stop for lunch. The food is classic burgers and sandwiches. It is all good. The service is both friendly and prompt. Your coffee cup does not see bottom. A definite on the list of places to stop.

this place is a holdover of the seventies, and I'm so glad it's still there. Quality meals at moderate prices. Meals from scratch. Best butter tart I've ever had

Never had a bad meal there. Great staff and consistently great food, at very reasonable prices. The fries are fresh cut and damn good. Sometimes if you go during peak lunch time, you may have to wait...but there really isn't anywhere to wait.
