My boyfriend and I came here for a special dinner and it was wonderful!!! Neither of us had been here and I was the only one that had heard anything about Westlake Grill. The inside is rustic and comfortable.....exposed beams in the ceiling, fireplace, and small intimate tables. Very romantic place. We chose for the appetizer the Coconut Lime Shrimp... More

Rustic setting. Nice wood burning fireplaces. Starters were great. Lamb starter better than most entries at other places. We had two starters, two mains, two desserts, wine and tea. Bill came to under 140. Lovely place for a date.

The Westlake Grill is a bit of a hidden treasure in Red Deer. It's off the beaten path, away from the main drags, and is definitely worth the effort to visit with your better half or a small group of friends. Located at Heritage Ranch, the decor and atmosphere lends itself to a rustic romantic evening of fine dining. The... More

It was a get together of family, driving from 3 destinations. Sunday brunch is the only thing from 10-2, which is very pricey for what was provided in the brunch. We arrived at 1, a lot of the food was not fresh, appeared to be sitting there for sometime. The eggs Benedict were cool, could not even cut through the... More

Hi Ida Thanks for the feedback. We are working on the items you mentioned... It is a bit difficult to hear however, I'm not sure there was anything that could be done to make you happy? We refunded 50% of your meal. Every other table in the building was coming to us and saying how amazing everything was... sorry... maybe... More

My husband and I discovered the West Lake Grill through friends. It is exquisite. Casual elegant dinning. They use locally sourced food that is made in house. Every time we have dinned here, our meals have been cooked to perfection. The staff have been nothing but gracious, and the atmosphere is rustic, cozy and warm. My husband and I adore... More

We have been living down the street from Heritage Ranch for almost 9 years and we always said that "we should go to the restaurant". So finally, I made reservations for our anniversary. Because we are within walking distance, we were comfortable ordering wine with dinner. We arrived shortly before our reservation time of 6:30 pm on a Friday night.... More

Maybe we chose an "off night" to celebrate a special occasion, but we left feeling a bit underwhelmed. When one is charged a higher price, one expects the whole package. While the location was beautiful and the food was gourmet and delicious, the service and atmosphere lacked finesse and did not warrant full marks. We made a reservation by texting... More

Thanks again for the feedback. I responded on our Heritage Ranch TripAdvisor but thought I'd catch you here too. Please contact me through our Heritage Ranch website. You were correct, it was a very busy weekend with 4 major events so it is certainly possible we dropped the ball. Would love to have you back... Cheers Joel More

This restaurant can also be found reviewed under Heritage Ranch (HR) which at the time of this writing is #3 out of Red Deer's restaurants and I fully understand why. This entire property with horseback riding, wagon & sleigh rides, etc.is owned by the City Of Red Deer and the Westlake Grille is the restaurant.. It would be an excellent... More

This restaurant is part of the Heritage Ranch complex and park. It is an easy stop for lunch or dinner if travelling on the Queen Elizabeth Highway between Edmonton and Calgary. The menu is diverse but does highlight elk, Alberta beef. I had the hamburger. It was good but a bit over dressed. My friend had the mushroom soup which... More

I always enjoyed going to Westlake with friends in the past. However the last few time I went to the Restaurant the service was horrible. Every time I go there there are different servers. I am not sure but it seems the owner can not keep his staff, and when I really like a waitress the next time I go... More
