Fine dining in a national park

The lodge may be rustic, but this restaurant has a very sophisticated menu, friendly and professional wait staff, and wonderful food. The shrimp cocktail may have been the best I've ever eaten and the venison rack was outstanding. Only the dessert (a creme brûlée) disappointed slightly. There was... read more

My wife and I are probably oversensitive to the various dress codes in hotels and their differing standards according to venue/restaurant. The woman on registration had made it plain the standard for this restaurant was "business suit" but their documentation stated "resort casual". Anyway, since half their restaurant options were not actually open during our stay (mid-June) we took a... More

Definitely worth a booking or two - in fact eat here every night if you are staying at the Fairmont Jasper.

My wife’s meal was served to another person and the meal my wife got was overcooked. It took the Restaurant Manager to satisfy us following this mistake. The food otherwise was excellent and the service too was great.

Had dinner here a few times and it never fails to please! The steak is fantastic, the piano player comes to your table to see if you have any requests too. Highly recommend it. It is expensive but if you don't mind paying for it, it is well worth it.

This was our priciest, but most amazing dinner in Canada. The dining room matches the lodge motif. Big wooden tables and chairs. Fireplaces. But a lot of modern art depicting the Canadian Rockies. And a very eclectic pianist, who unfortunately closed up for the night before we could show him our appreciation. Our server, Regina was really really wonderful. She... More

The asperagus was done to our liking, tender with a gentle crunch the BC mushrooms delightful, a glass of sparkling wine a nice touch, rib eye Tomahawk cut well incredible flavour with the shallot juice was a nice touch. the breads and butter served were defiantely homemade. Ambiance with piano playing was a nice touch.

A perfect dinner venue when staying at the Jasper Park Lodge. Somehow it seemed a much-better choice than the incongruously placed Orso Italian Restaurant at the lodge, wouldn't you agree? The still-in-training waiter (it was in mid-May at the start of the season) was closely supervised by the maitre'd who gave us his undivided attention.

We had the Tomahawk Chop with creamed spinach, asparagus, garlic potatoes and onions with wine. Tomahawk was cooked rare - amazing, amazing flavour. We topped the meal off with cheese cake - had to share we were so full! I recommend reservations - we were sat in front of the fire place....very pleasant to say the least. Julien (from Quebec)... We had to wait far too long for placing our order, main course took one hour to arrive. Food ok but ambience not nice, service very friendly but somewhat helpless (long may weekend). All in all we won't return.
