Red ox inn is a unique spot in Edmonton that offers an array of delicious dishes. At my last visit I tried the Mac and cheese to start and the sirloin as my main. Both were done beautifully and like I've never had before. My only complaint (besides the fact the place was a tad chilly) was that due to... More

We had occasion to be in Edmonton recently and made reservations in advance to have dinner at the Red Ox Inn, an old favourite...it did not disappoint. We had lovely service and wonderful food. We had the duck, the lamb and the chicken washed down with a lovely Volnay which was preceded by the spaetzle, the roasted beet salad and... More

A place we've seen lots of great reviews for so we had to try it out for our anniversay. The interior is quaint. Reservations strongly recommended as there's limited seating. Lots of choices, so hard to decide. Staff was great, and good food was worth the wait. We shared lamb and duck breast, so smooth & delicate to eat, bacon... More

Have been at the Red Ox a number of times over the years. It does not fail to amaze me - in a good way. We were there on a Tuesday so it was reasonably quiet. That said, there was a person near us who believed that their phone conversation was the most important - how rude! We both enjoyed... More

Last week my husband and I had dinner at the Red Ox Inn to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. I had a cold beet salad for an appetizer and chicken for my entrée. Mu husband had mac and cheese for his appetizer and lamb for his entrée. Everything was superbly prepared and delicious. This was followed by coffee and a... More

I admit, a restaurant has limited means to control noise levels, but I think this neighborhood restaurant could do better. It's reputation as a small, expensive, special occasion place suggests it would have an intimate and cosy atmosphere. It was small, it was expensive and it was our anniversary, but it was anything but quiet on this Friday evening. Pots... More

Went here for our anniversary after hearing it was good. The menu is small with few choices, but the food is great. We had the Lamb and Halibut. Both dishes were great and the plating was excellent. Smaller portions but full of flavor and creativity. Didn't have any issues with noise, but the restaurant was not busy at the time.... More

Be sure to make reservations on a Friday night as this is a popular restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were seated immediately. For starters we enjoyed the Beet Salad and the Mac & Cheese. I loved the Halibut entree while hubby raved about the ravioli dish. For dessert we savoured the lemon tart. Service was excellent and our... More
