As you all know, restaurants have a short life expectancy on average. I have been to Normand's a few times only over the past few decades, but I always felt good about the experience. The prices are not as high as the fancy restaurants in expensive hotels, but the meals are better here. This is also a place that you... More

We ate for the first time at Normand's just last week and we are angry that we waited this long to try this remarkable restaurant. We were met and seated by a very jocular fellow who clearly loves food and wine (apparently, Normand himself), and who treated us like old friends and beloved regulars - we felt immediately at home.... We went here for my birthday dinner tonight. My kids wanted to take me somewhere nice and they know I have always spoken highly of Normand's. This is the first time with my kids however, as it is not really what you would think if as a kids restaurant. The service was spectacular as always and they went out of... More

Normands has been part of the Edmonton restaurant scene for twenty plus years. We had been here once many years ago and enjoyed it so decided that we would pay it another visit. We were not disappointed. We had a lovely evening there recently starting with the proprietor's warm greeting at the door. Service was most efficient and attentive and... More

The food and staff are amazing! A wide variety of things to choose from on the menu. We go there a couple times a year and have always had a wonderful experience. Cozy and romantic.

Have the mussels as a starter, they are delish. The lamb is awesome also. Great small restaurant atmosphere.

As other have said, the decor is dated, it is a bit like dining in someones 70's rumpus room. My meat was overcooked on the ends. Sorry but when you lay out that kind cash for an entree, IMHO it should be close to perfect. The staff is attentive and friendly but for my dollar there are other places in... More

We visited for a recent birthday and it was great. Parking is available on the premises. We had the tradtional french duck, pork, beef and fish soup and each person commented that the food was excellent. I had the fish soup which came with the potato served on the side which I thought was a bit strange as the traditional... More

I returned here after several months of not dining here (or anywhere in Edmonton for that matter). The friendly host and owner Norman Campbell welcomes every guest, whether new or returning, with a "Hi, how are you this evening?", and shakes the hands of returning customers. The evening I dined, a Saturday of a long weekend, it was steady, not... More

Traditional French in style - think moodily lit room with a big focus on meat - offering a range of game specialties. We enjoyed the house made pâté, bison carpaccio, bison ribeye steak and the game special (ostrich, bison and crocodile). Well cooked food. Friendly service. Reommended.
