We were looking for a nice Sushi restaurant and stumbled onto Mikado thru Trip Advisor. When we arrived we found it big but authentic in atmosphere. It was a Saturday night so it was busy, seating seemed a bit awkward. Once in the service was very pleasant and food was great.

A very large place. They can accommodate large groups. We reserved a private room. Very kitschy cute party room. We ordered assorted sushi, a large sashimi/sushi boat and a few other dishes. The presentation was very good. The selection and quality was good. Very pleased. Not cheap though sushi rarely is.

Short and sweet: My wife is Japanese and I lived there 12 years. We feel Mikado is the best place we've found (so far) in Edmonton for an authentic Japanese night out. We can even talk in Japanese to some of the servers! That's rare in most other places. My only caveat is that the sauces for the meats are,... More

We would usually get takeout from here but we were constantly finding it short of the sauces. Agadashi tofu without the sauce is pretty bad. That was the first. They made that right with us. The next 2 orders were missing sauces again. When we called to lodge a complaint, there was no apology, too bad and nothing we will... More

Mikado is my go to place for Japanese food in Edmonton. I have been going to both the downtown and south common locations on a regular basis for several years and have rarely been disappointed. Whether for business lunches or family dinners the food is consistently very good. My most recent visit was for a family dinner at the south... More

The Mikado at South Common in Edmonton is a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. My friend and I had lunch the other day and were very pleased with the decor, service and the food. The Bento Box was full of traditional, yummy dishes...almost enough for two, but we each had a different assortment. The batter on... More

My friend and I dined there last Friday April 11, and had the Great Fortune of having Server "JOY " serving us. What a pleasant, courteous and competent young lady. When we ever go back to dine there, it will only be if we have her as a server. The service was awesome. We had a Bento Box and a... More

We had a good experience here- good food and reasonable prices. Forgotten by our server a couple times on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon, but otherwise good!
