I've appreciated the show cooking session, I was alone and I had fun. The food (chicken teriaky) was good.

We have been going to Japanese Village for over 20 years for birthdays, anniversaries, other celebrations (e.g. new jobs/promotions); and unfortunately experienced the the WORST service ever on May 26, 2014 at the south side location. The restaurant was not busy; it took about "50 minutes" for the chef to appear at our table to begin cooking; the birthday cake... More

We go every year or so just to have a different dining experience. The food is always good and most of the time the chief is very entertaining. We take all our kids and grandkids.

A very enjoyable dinner out. The food is fantastic and fun to watch the chef cook it in front of you. I found it to be quite expensive for a family of four but it is something unique. We will go back one day.

It would be great if full bottles of hot sake would be available. Ordering many of the larger little bottles can end up being very expensive.

It was an experience you will never forget. After having gone 3 times in a span of a year and half, you get to know the chef's routine. Their talent is remarkable. First time - It was in the Southside location in 2011. That was my first time. it was exciting to get the centre of attention as it was... More

This site has been closed for many years, There still is a Japanese Village in the Northend and I think somewhere else in the city but the downtown location has been closed a long time and it's being renovated by another company

Took my daughter-in-law here for her birthday along with my daughter and grandchildren. Food was all very tasty and well presented, except we didn't care for the soup (a bit too "eggy"). Service was great fun. Granddaughters really enjoyed the fancy knife work and seeing their mom dressed up in a kimono and wig for the birthday picture. Birthday cake... More

If you have never been to one of those places with the chef spinning knives around and making cooking a performance art, then this is a good place to go for the experience. Food is adequate in quality but pricey. So go if you want a show. Probably best to get a reservation, which I rarely do in Edmonton as... More
