My wife and I decided to try this restaurant for breakfast on a Friday morning at 8:30 am. We encountered perhaps the smallest parking lot at a restaurant we have ever seen. The 12 car lot was full and the restaurant looked half empty. Needless to say, we went elsewhere.

You are completely right in that we do have limited parking in front of the restaurant; however, the parking in the adjacent lot on the north side of the property also belongs to us. More

Just ate there this morning was good service and even better food. Our meal was great and my wife's pancake was the size of her plate literally huge! We have been several times and always had great experiences!

Dined here on Friday. It is a small quaint restaurant that needs to be upgraded in the decore and restrooms. I had the buffet which was fresh. The mashed garlic potatoes had a WEE bit much butter/oil on them but once mixed with the sauerkraut, was delicious. The sausages were good, the variety of salads, excellent, homemade ketchup was yummy.... More

We've been passing this place by for years, and finally stopped in for a late morning breakfast recently. Decor is minimal, to say the least, but we were pleased with the homestyle omelettes we chose. These were accompanied by hash brown potatoes, choice of toast, and the plates generously garnished with chunks of fresh melon. We also shared a side... More

I have visited Barb and Ernies for breakfast for years and loved it. Our last visit was yummy, they make awesome eggs Benedict. Homemade hollandaise, eggs cooked perfectly every time. I was a bit disappointed in the hashbrowns this time and I usually love them. They were a mixture of very crispy overdone pieces and undercooked pieces. Pancakes and crepes... More

We had heard that Barb and Ernie's was a popular place for breakfast, so expected a wait for a table when we went on a Sunday morning. In fact the wait was only about 10 minutes. The restaurant in a somewhat industrial part of Edmonton. The atmosphere was very casual, and it looked like a number of the customers were... More

Well, I drove by so many times and never thought of giving it a try; this time we're glad we did; everything is 100% homemade and finally HAD some European taste I remember so well, just like back in my childhood when grandma would cook. It just happened to be there for the buffet, but German sausages and schnitzels, red... More

Had my first breakfast at Barb & Ernie's in years (had been about 8 years ago once), and it was delicious as I remember it. Very reasonably priced, huge portions (I had a regular benny and it fed me for two meals) and friendly staff. Decor a bit outdated but it adds to the charm of the quaint little place.... More

This was my first-ever visit to this restaurant having seen it many times in driving past over the last 20 years ! It was all that I had expected it to be based on what I had heard from friends and read on reviews. I loved the dated, quirky décor - outside and in - and the quiet casual atmosphere.... More
