Could have flown to Thailand and back before we got all our food

We arrived for dinner on a Thursday night, and there were only a couple other tables in the restaurant. We were able to order not too long after we were seated. Then we waited...and waited...and waited. It took 45 minutes for our chicken satay appetizer to arrive at the table. And then another 35... read more

Lovely little mom and pop restaurant. Food is flavorful and authentic. The place has been around since the 90's and the decor has not been updated since then but who cares? It's not fancy, but it's charming. They play classical music in the background which does add a nice atmosphere to dinner. Seems to be a popular place for take... More

The owners are wonderful the lady from Thailand cooks amazing food and Al takes care of everything else. Simple the best !! If you are in the area try them for sure.

A bad recommendation. Worn out decor. Slow service. Burnt food. Waited for ever for: Drinks, Appetizers, Entrees and Bill. Fish cakes flavourless, greasy and burnt. Fried Tofu, some tasteless attempt at tempura? Whole fried fish, tiny, all bones and crust. Chicken, burnt, dry and not worth it. They do have Chang Beer and frosty mugs on the positive side. Never,... More

To preface this I don't think I have ever penned a bad review, but in this case I felt I needed to share a gentle warning. My sentiments to the owners and I don't mean to be insensitive, but all of this could be fixed by some deep cleaning, a reno and a trip back to Thailand to refresh some... More

Do you come to a restaurant to avoid cooking for yourself? Come to be seen? Come for the décor? Don't come here. This restaurant is for the people who want to eat the best traditional Thai food available for sale today, and who are willing to wait a little while and overlook the décor to do it. This is for... I have eaten here numerous times over the years, and always enjoyed it. It had been several years since my last visit when we decided to go last night. The food was as good as I remembered it being. We had chicken satay appetizers (4 pieces, $9). They came quickly and the peanut sauce with them was fantastic. The rest... More

We live on the opposite side of the city from Ban Thai but find ourselves driving by weekly in winter on way to our son's Hockey. Tonight I made a reservation for my Wife's Birthday (on way to Hockey ) The restaurant was alive with happy banter from a 1/2 dozen tables filled with cheerful customers, despite the -32 C... More

Don't go here if you want to eat in a timely fashion and hate eating in an unclean, severely dusty restaurant. I don't think any of the fake plants have been cleaned in months. Everything was dirty and the furniture is old and has seen better days. We ordered our food and waited 45 minutes to get our appetizer. Pick... More

Having been a customer of the Ban Thai for many years, I kept hoping that they would get their act together and provide at least reasonable service to their dine in customers. Not any more, my last visit was a disaster. We arrived as soon as the restaurant opened, being the first customers in and telling the owner that we... More
