We ate at Tres Carnales during a recent family vacation to Edmonton. We love Mexican food and this was some of the best Mexican we have ever had. It actually reminded me of some of the good meals I had while in Mexico. Yes, you're going to probably have to wait in a line to get in but it is... More

Pacific red snapper fish tacos, breaded with delicate coating and served in, really on, a quartet of perfectly airy, un-salty taco shells, and laced with delicious, un-hot sauces and love. Pig out? Try Alberta pork shoulder, called Carnitas, crispy fried in its own fat, and served with salsa aguacatillo. Getting thirsty? Try Mexican pop and beer (no Canadjun juice, alcohol,... More

My wife and I enjoyed a great lunch and super service in this authentic Mexican restaurant. Albeit small in size, the food is big in flavour. The pescado tacos of crisp red snapper had lots of fish and ample size. My wife enjoyed the chorizo and pork quesadilla. We had a side of chips and guacamole, roasted corn and washed... More

My daughter has a severe dairy allergy and they were VERY accommodating by letting us know which sauces/dishes had dairy in them. Very friendly, it was our first time there and they really explained the menu well to us. Food was amazing! Fish tacos were the best! Definitely the best Mexican food in Edmonton!

I was super shocked to see some negative reviews of this place, as we still call it one of the best meals we had during our two week vacation in Alberta & BC! We ordered some chicken tacos & guac with chips and a couple Dos Equis. We sat out on the patio and people watched while we ate. The... More

I wanted to hate it because of the hipster affectations, but the food is just too damn good and the service is usually great. It's also just a whole lotta fun. A good time place to go with friends who actually care about food.

The wait was really long and they don't take reservations. It is not fast food as it took quite a while to get in. The food was fresh - salsa and guacamole was especially good. But it seems overhyped to me. Yep, good, just not as unbelievable as I've heard it was.

Quite a nice idea for a fast good restaurant. The interior is cute and the food is ok but my experience and the counter ruined my meal. The server behind the counter behaved like the rudest food snob I have ever encountered and almost refused to explain the menu to me! The floor staff were fine but systems seemed a... More

Had one of the best tacos. Our party of 3 had the fish and duck tacos and they both were delicious. Also had the guacamole and chips. Prices are reasonable. It is like a semi-fast food restaurant - you go to the cashier and order your food, then find a table to sit and the waitress will bring the food... More

Authentic and very tasty, rather than the oversweet cliché of what Mexican food can so often be in North America. Excellent quality without being fussy - taste unclouded by sour cream or cheese. Simply delicious, generously portioned food, where well seasoned and perfectly cooked meat is quite rightly the star. Freshly made and richly spiced salsas and corn-rich tortillas and... More
