Description: CHOP Steakhouse & Bar is located on Ellerslie Road, just a few minutes south from South Edmonton Common and Southgate Shopping centre. CHOP is attached to the upscale Sandman Signature Hotel, just off of Calgary Trail. A MOMENT AWAY FROM THE USUAL STEAKHOUSE. At Chop we bring together all the elements that discerning guests love about wine and food and combine them with energy, style and value. For the steak lover, Chop steaks are aged a minimum of 28 days and cooked in a specially designed oven that cooks at 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit for incredible flavor. If your preference is seafood, we have a fantastic selection of fish dishes complimented with sensational sauces and sides. Fresh baked Winnipeg rye bread and delightful desserts, like our signature Fallen Chocolate Souffle Cake, are created by our baker daily. Our extensive wine list is assembled by sommelier Kim Spence and has something for every palate, ranging from elegant white wines to fruit forward reds.

If your planning on going just find some place else. I think based on number of guys around bar it is only for the pretty girls standing around who seem to be employees but don't actually do anything other than mess with their hair and pull down on their obviously uncomfortable short dress. The food is absolutely terrible. The chicken... More

Wife and I showed up with no reservation, no problem. The restaurant was full though and you could see that the wait staff was swamped. Got our drinks taken care of and had a couple of hiccups with the order (med instead of small), but the steaks were cooked to order and food was very good. Loved the Cheesecake for... More

The meat was tender, juicy, tasty and perfectly cooked. So were the sides. The only drawback is that we had to wait a very long time to be seated and for our orders to be taken (I must admit that we were a group of seven and that we hadn't made a reservation). The decoration and furniture are classy and... More

I do a lot of work south of Edmonton and often stay in Leduc and Nisku. Not much for food here so I drive to Edmonton. The first restaurant you see is the Chop Steakhouse on Ellerslie Road. I showed up without a reservation on a Thursday night and was seated immediately. The Caesar Salad was fresh and crispy if... More

The Beef Tenderloin Capriccio appetizer was to die for. The Wedge Salad was way too salty and was not even close to the same salad one could buy at the Keg. The Hunter Chicken was touted as a best ever. At least two people recommended it. That was not what I experienced. My wife had the Maple Bourbon Haddock. It... More

We got in here on our way back to Calgary. I had the sliders, which were really good. Our waitress was attentive. We were placed in a room, which was nice.

30 minute wait after we arrived. Packed into a tiny table. Wine served in bleach-smelling glasses. Drinks came sporadically, some waiting another 15 minutes. Dinners started coming out after waiting over an hour, and still forgot 2 guests' dishes. No matter, because all were COLD. Cold, overdone and dry steaks. Complaints ignored until we demanded to see the manager. The... More

We went as a group of 4 to celebrate a 60th birthday. Online reservations were made and pointed out that we were celebrating a 60th birthday that day. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. Our server was at pour table in good time and took our drink orders that were delivered in short order. Our fast talking waiter... More

The service and food was all good here. Well worth the short driving to get here. Atmosphere was very nice, upscale casual dining. Steaks were done very well and just as ordered. We were a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed the appetizers and mains. I'd go back next time for sure. Only negative - the wine list was a... More
