Enormous portion sizes aren't the only thing going for this place. It is cozy and is full of charm. A Calgary staple, this place has been around as long as I can remember. We came here for lunch with friends and we each ordered a different dish - I had the soup, my husband a custom sandwhich and our friend... More

Too often I have had old baked goods...dried out cupcakes for example...a bakery should have always fresh made items! not keep things around for a week. I am not too keen on their soft breads either would like to see some more authentic European baked goods! Close to home but still, I seldom go there any more!

Don't go for the service or ambiance (cafeteria-like), the staff is too busy debating the evils of Starbuck's amongst themselves to pay close attention to you or your order. The reason to go is the ginger cookie sandwich; 2 colossal & fabulous chewy ginger cookies with an entire vat of frosting in the middle. Carrot loaf cake is good. The... More

Had a nice brunch at the Lazy Loaf a few weeks back. That meal was preceded by a very nice turkey sandwich in mid-January. The sandwiches are substantial and they come to the table fairly quickly. It can be a job finding space to sit when it is busy. Very highly recommended.

Lazy loaf has been warming my stomach with delicious baked goods and warm drinks for over a decade. Located next to the bow river, take a seat outside and enjoy a freshly made sandwich on their delicious homemade bread. Seriously, the bread is to die for. Tasty brunch as well!! The lines at this place says it all....

I stopped here to grab a quick sandwich before heading back to the office. Unfortunately it wasn’t so quick… It took a while to find parking since the available parking stalls are always full. Also, it is a little tricky to maneuver the small parking lot, especially since people tend to ‘make up’ parking spots to save themselves from being... More

This place has Great food, bread is excellent soup was not bad they have a wide selection of baked goods, cookies are amazing. It did take the girls awhile to place our order (they seemed very young and unsure what they were doing) but definitely plan on returning.

Every now and then I decide to go to the Lazy Loaf and Kettle instead of the Extreme Bean which is my usual. The Lazy Loaf always seems to be a bit grungy; perhaps it is the retro style, the use of plastic glasses, mismatched furniture, or the handwritten signs. You line up to place your order (the same as... More

At $11.00 for breakfast I was hoping / expecting a little more. More presentation in the food or larger portions. The staff was courteous but not overly friendly. It was an interesting place to have breakfast.
