Great food, wine, service and atmosphere

Went here for dinner and it was great. The server was really attentive and friendly. I order the lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly. The restaurant is a little far from downtown and difficult to get to, but it is well worth the effort.

Took the mister for his birthday and sat on the terrace which has a great ambiance. We had two courses each. Sadly the food is way too salty. Portions are small and could be better executed. So overall I was disappointed given the price. The dining room where we originally sat had an overwhelming smell of fish, they need better... More

I had dinner at Alloy last night and it was excellent. The free starters of fresh warm naan bread, hummus and olives were an unexpected treat. Presentation and quality of the food was terrific! Our server was attentive and friendly. When I saw the address and the surrounding buildings I did not expect that the decor would be so lovely.... More

This is the third time we have dined at Alloy. Alloy Restaurant is located in a nondescript (warehouse/industrial) area a couple of blocks east of MacLeod Trail on 42nd Ave SE, near the tracks. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance/decor with a quite nice patio in the back. Our group of four had a very nice patio dinner there... More

Upon arrival the place was almost empty. This confused me as I had a hard time getting the reservation. There were a few people sitting outside but it never got busy. The service was very good. The food was good. I enjoyed how they plated it, A for effort. We shared the robust lobster risotto to start. The rest of... More

My wife and I have been going to Alloy for years and we continue to enjoy the great tastes and textures of their food -- as well as the attention the cooks pay to ensuring dietary restrictions are accommodated. This time, while the food remained at its usual high level, we were disappointed by a costly twist that more and... More

With a reservation, prompt seating and excellent service throughout lunch. This was a business lunch and our server was timely and very respectful of our conversation, which was appreciated. The food was very well presented and quite good. My guest had the gnocchi daily special which he indicated was very tasty albeit over salted. My linguine was good although I... More

Food is extraordinary and the ambiance is stylish yet casual in this gem of a restaurant located in the most unlikely spot. Round banquets for foursomes are private and intimate. Try supping on just the appetizers in order to get a wider sampling of the menu. Highly recommended.

Made a tactical error. Ordered Halibut but could not see the ocean. Dry and boring. The "inspired" owners have not eaten this lately. There is a reason this place is half empty. Crab cakes tastes like grease and canned tuna. My wife's 17 dollar Greek salad was 3 prices of feta and a few tomatoes and peppers beside a pile... More

We were family group of 7 for dinner on a Sunday. Everyone enjoyed most of their meal. Of particular mention is the truffle gnocchi appetizer, the mains lamb chops and the dessert lemon custard. Three of us had the appetizer blue crab cake, but the texture was quite soft and a bit mushy although the flavours were there. Service was... More
