Unexpected location, very good restaurant

With a reservation, prompt seating and excellent service throughout lunch. This was a business lunch and our server was timely and very respectful of our conversation, which was appreciated. The food was very well presented and quite good. My guest had the gnocchi daily special which he indicated was very tasty albeit over salted. My linguine was good although I... More

Food is extraordinary and the ambiance is stylish yet casual in this gem of a restaurant located in the most unlikely spot. Round banquets for foursomes are private and intimate. Try supping on just the appetizers in order to get a wider sampling of the menu. Highly recommended.

Made a tactical error. Ordered Halibut but could not see the ocean. Dry and boring. The "inspired" owners have not eaten this lately. There is a reason this place is half empty. Crab cakes tastes like grease and canned tuna. My wife's 17 dollar Greek salad was 3 prices of feta and a few tomatoes and peppers beside a pile... More

We were family group of 7 for dinner on a Sunday. Everyone enjoyed most of their meal. Of particular mention is the truffle gnocchi appetizer, the mains lamb chops and the dessert lemon custard. Three of us had the appetizer blue crab cake, but the texture was quite soft and a bit mushy although the flavours were there. Service was... More

Alloy! Wow! I NEVER would have expected a place this good and this cool by turning off of MacLeod Trail. In the middle of what appears to be a warehouse district, there is a place with a massive cool factor, great food and a lively ambiance which reminded me a bit of places I have been in Silicon Valley. (Imagine... More

Fabulous decor, a great menu, the beef short rib is to die for. Excellent service! Can see why this restaurant has been on the "best" of Calgary since it opened.

I guess I had high expectations for the food and service ... Lunch with business colleagues/friends where the food just didn't seem that great. I'm feeling disappointed.

My daughter wanted to take to a fine dining restaurant in Calgary on my resent visit. We went to Alloy only to be extremely disappointed. The menu did not have many non-shellfish options as my daughter has food allergies. The chicken was bland and the duck was over salted when we mentioned it they brought a salad also very salty.... We celebrated a milestone birthday here in early March 2015. We had part of the restaurant to ourselves a group of 45! The service up to and including the day of the event was fabulous! The staff and the food was truly amazing. Thank you... p.s. you must go here.

We went for dinner right at opening at 5:00 pm. This worked well for a good table as it gets busy fast later. The menu is limited but all the choices are quite good and there is a daily special as well. The steak was high quality and the Amarone on the wine list was reasonably priced. The location is...
