We visited BIG Fish after my sister in law saw then featured on 'You've Gotta Eat Here'. We weren't disappointed! An eclectic funky vibe with a great menu. I ordered the pistachio crusted Arctic char & it was amazing, we shared mussels for an appie- no disappointment!! Service was great, music was enjoyable- jazz, Zydeco, added to the atmosphere. Great... More

We had visited Big Fish last year for lunch after seeing it featured on "You Gotta Eat Here". As I remember our lunch was satisfying and worth returning for. Especially impressive was that they had one of our favourite wines from Creston, B.C on the menu. Well, when we returned for a dinner with friends the wine was no longer... More

This is a regular for us for brunch - we love that they take reservations. The brunch items are a little unique - trout is served with one. They serve toasted fresh bread & homemade jam with each meal - both are scrumptious. The daily special is always a sure bet.

Went here late on a Wednesday, arrived around 8pm, the place was still pretty busy. We had an appetizer (shared a plate of deliciously spiced prawns, which I think was on the special menu that night), entree meal each (Seafood pot au feu for me; pan roasted Manitoba Walleye for my companion - both meals were delicious!), and a dessert... "Unfortunately" it seems that our secret is out. Big Fish is easily one of the best brunch places in Calgary. Skip the line-up at OEB or Diner Deluxe down the street and make a reservation at Big Fish. It is a pricey option in the evening but for brunch it is not significantly more expensive than the popular spots that... More

This restaurant was ok but not ok for these prices. As a seafood place should they not have some crab, muscles and other seafoods? Oysters were perhaps the smallest I've seen anywhere.

Came here before for lunch and enjoyed it. I had the soft shell club (yummy!). Came back again and brought two more friends. We had the clam chowder and the fish tacos. Very delicious.

Met a friend here for supper and we both agreed the food and service were excellent! We shared 3 appetizers (peel and eat shrimp, mussels and fish tacos) all were very good but the mussels were some of the best I have ever had. We also really enjoyed the Halibut and appreciated that they split our plates prior to serving... More

We dropped in to BIG Fish on a late, Friday afternoon. We assume by the fact that the dining room quickly filled up round 7:00, that this is an evening/late night spot. We were seated with the caveat that reservations were pending at 7:15. That gave us plenty of time. We sampled the beer offerings and ordered the mussels as... More

The sister restaurant to Open Range is great for brunch on weekends and also for lunch/dinner mid-week. We always make a reservation as this place is busy on weekends - it's been discovered! A good, varied menu and the service is always second to none. Pleasant neighbourhood feel. The food is always good and a little different. Would highly recommend.
