it costs a pretty penny to eat weeds, but well worth it

To be honest, I was drawn to this place because it advertised a dish with nettles, the stinging weed that is full of nutrients, and would be widely used as a spring green if we had our wits about us. I appreciate the audacity and integrity of a pro-local pro-eco restaurant that challenges eaters... read more

Had a brief dinner meeting at Blink. Everyone enjoyed their meal, my lamb was perfectly cooked. Nice view into kitchen to see preparation. Atmosphere is a bit loud but we ended up having the place to ourselves later on in the evening.

Very pared down décor which let's you know the focus is on the food. I was not particularly hungry due to time change so I had the asparagus soup and the roasted red pepper salad. The soup was creamy, not overpowering and a larger size than normal for an appetizer. It had some sort of fennel floating on top which... More

I took my boyfriend for his bday dinner last night to Blink. The service was spot on, great selection of wine starting from $39, food was just delicious. Honestly, my boyfriend and I tried to find something to complain about and the only thing we could come out with was the fact that it was a bit dark in there.... More

A long, slightly dark and soothing room. Not too noisy but sufficiently popular that there is an encouraging energy to the space. Knowledgeable, helpful, prompt but non-intrusive wait staff. Lots of interesting food and wine choices. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. My wife's halibut was one of the nicest fish dishes she's ever had the pleasure of enjoying... More

We chose this restaurant based on the rave accounts here; now we understand why so many reviewers declare this is the best restaurant in the city. The convenient location is stylish and relaxing and the menu was varied without offering an overwhelming number of choices. I ordered the angus ribeye, salsify-puree and beignet, wilted spinach leaves, sauce au poivre, with... More

I didn't mind being seated close to the kitchen. It was entertaining to watch the chefs preparing dinners for the guests. Had I been seeking an intimate dinner with my wife I would have asked to be seated elsewhere. The food was delicious. The appies were delicious (scallops and octopus carpaccio) and the mains were delicious all round. My only... More

Blink is a restaurant in a heritage building that has stood the test of time on YYC's popular Stephen Avenue. While many other spots tend to change hands, this intimate classy little gem of a restaurant remains consistent, as do the talented Wine Director & Executive Chef. From your first step in the door you are welcomed with gracious service... More

We have been to Blink four of five times at least, and we are impressed every time. They don't try to dazzle you with dishes that have 18 ingredients, most of which don't go together. The emphasis is on fresh and tasty, and we can't find any fault with that. There is a nice wine list that caters to most... More

Want something a bit different try Blink. It has a menu that can cater to anyone. It is an upscale restaurant with service that you would expect at this level of dining. And it is dining. They do not rush you and there is a bit of time between your first course and main. Blink has a nice balance between... More
