Best Prime Rib in Calgary

I have been a huge fan of Smugglers for 3 1/2 decades now. In recent years they have downsized, and sacrificed prime space to other establishments within the building. My wife and mother in law have been here twice for lunch recently and its a very wholesome meal for a reasonable cost. The soups and salad bar are excellent except it fills you up. I have had the steak sandwich and the beef dip and both satisfied a beef lovers appetite. The service is excellent and you don't have... More

We came as a Family with my Father in Law, visiting from England. My wife and I had been to Smugglers before, but not for a long time. Thought it would be nice to re-visit with the Family. Unfortunately, the experience was less than positive. The service was not good, the food was ok for 3 of us -the other... More

We have never had a bad piece of prime rib here... best in Calgary. Absolutely delicious. The salad bar is alright, nothing spectacular, the basics.

Been coming here since we moved to Calgary but I've noticed that the quality of service has declined over the past few years. They still serve the best prime rib in town. The salad bar selections are still plentiful. However, the quality of other entrée selections have gone down so that's why I always revert back to ordering prime rib.... More

Our family has been going to Smugglers Inn since the mid-70's. They are a one-of-a-kind restaurant, and the fact they've been around so long is a testament to their consistent quality. The two famous soups they serve at their soup and salad bar (Steak Soup and Portuguese Bean Soup) are brilliant and unique soup recipes that have been my family's... More

It had been quite a few years since we last ate here, so I elected to go there for my birthday dinner. Sadly, I was disappointed. There was nothing specifically wrong, but nor was there anything particularly outstanding. I thought it was over priced for what we got.

I love the beautiful display of flowers that surround the building as well as the delicious fresh herbs and greens from the summer kitchen garden. The service has been consistently good. Best prime rib in town. Love the soup and salad bar.

This is a great place for a steak or a hunk of beef. The cuts are large but very tasty. The restaurant and salad bar are dated but the food makes up for it. I would suggest the prime rib or rib eye steak. Make sure you ask for the seafood topper on the meat, you won't be disappointed.
