I suggest the new owners rename the place 'Used To Be Peter's Drive-in' since the iconic burger stand has died a quick and painful death. Having grown up in Calgary, I was accustomed to going to Peter's and revelling in fast food heaven. The mere thought of their thick, golden fries and dense, creamy milkshakes was enough to get my... The burgers are a good value and are tasty, the shakes are so thick you can collapse the straw when trying to drink them, the fries and onion rings are very good as well. Don't order the large fries if you are alone, they feed a family. There are a few picnic tables around, but this is a drive through... More

Has been around for decades. New owners several years ago have not changed anything that the original Peter developed. A "single" is still one and a half patties. Same sauce. Same bun. Same toppings. Same quality. Lots of parking. Lots of picnic tables to sit at.

The food is definitely over-rated. In Calgary, Peter's seems to be a tradition, but on a scale of 1 to 10, the food is at the bottom of the scale. The turnover is amazingly quick if you're in a hurry, but I've not found the quality or the taste something I'd want, no matter how quick the service.

I have lived in Calgary since 2001 and had never tried Pete's drive in. Yesterday I had to wait for a store to open at 11am so I was down the street and thought I would try it. The burger had two skinny paddies which did not make enough to cover the bun. They did use real cheddar though. It... More

If you are looking for a quick stop at a somewhat traditional Burger "Drive-in", Peter's is a good option. It's ALWAYS busy during the summer, so be prepared to wait in line, but the tasty burgers and shakes (so thick you need a spoon) are worth it. There are 2 drive thru windows that are also always lined up, even... More

Still the best burger you can buy in Calgary with generous side orders of rings and fries! They recently added an Interac payment option which may slow things just a little, but saves you scrambling for cash. they still give you one a and a half patties for a single burger too!

Peters' is a great place to go on a warm summer's day. Their burgers have a unique flavour (some LOVE them, I like them better now that you can request lettuce etc), and they always come with an extra half party. In my opinion they have the BEST vanilla soft serve EVER - order it in a pint to share... More
