Went for business lunch meeting on a Friday and was not impressed with food or service. The service was very inattentive, we were there close to two hours. Considering everything was a stew (which would have been prepared before-hand), this seems very odd. Meals ordered were the curry chicken stew wrapped in potato pancake, stew with pastry topping, stew, and... More

Had a fantastic lunch date and drinks here. Was welcomed by a friendly hostess and we were seated in a beautiful front room with a warm fireplace a nice view of Stephen Ave. Watching the shoppers go by, I felt that we were in a pub in Dublin! Great ambiance and a beautiful bar! We ordered drinks that were delivered... More

Went here with a very good friend for a catch up: our waitress (both of them- we stayed long), were outstandingly friendly and professional. We never had the feeling not being welcomed. The food and the drinks came fast and were simple, but delicious (garlic fries, yam fries and fried calamari). We loved very much the atmosphere-really warm, cozy and... More

While sightseeing in Calgary we came across this pub. Being from Ireland we tend to give these themed places a miss however on this occasion we were pleasantly surprised. The bar is long and has little snug areas which is nice if you want a separate area to meet up with friends. It is quite dark given the bar and... More

Had the lamb burger which was great. Worth getting again. One of our group had the shepard 's pie and had great reviews. The Guiness float was not what was expected - more of a milk shake. Onion rings very good but calamari was just ok. Great beer selection. Service was good. Cool pub environment. Worth a repeat visit.

I really loved their steak. Excellently well done with Beets. Very nice ambience and a good chill spot for one and a party

We stopped there for lunch while seeing the downtown area of Calgary. There were three of us. We ordered the chicken burger with apples and chutney and many French fries; potato pancakes with vegetables; and chicken curry boxty. Each was great in its own way.

Not too impressed with being moved around because of "reserved" tables. The so called customers didn't even show! Still the best Guinness in town

I wouldn't say I'm a huge burger fan, but just off a flight from the UK it seemed to be required. Happy to have chosen the James Joyce Irish Pub. Food was way better than I expected and in particular the burgers (had two different kinds on two different visits including a lamb & pistachio one - yum!). Would def... More

A good bar/restaurant with typical I risk fair. Well worth the visit. Good prices, lots of food choices & drink choices. Heavy on the Guinness.
