Huge fan

The food is always good here and there's plenty of variety but the stand out thing with James joyce is the bar. There is so much tasty beer and whiskey to choose from. If any of this stuff was good for you it'd be one of the healthiest places in Calgary. The patio in summer also means I can sit... read more

Firstly, this place is busy. Like, packed to the brim busy. That being said, I still managed to get a table with my friends. We waited a while for a server to come see us, and 15 minutes later a nice woman with short blonde hair (I forgot to get her name) came up to us asking if we had... More

What a great experience. This is an authentic Irish pub (as opposed to the many who falsely advertise as such) and has an excellent staff.

Every time we come here we have had excellent food. Its a nice atmosphere, and a great location. Stew, soups and salads are usually what we have and you can't go wrong

Haven't been here in years but thought we'd give it a try again. Still wonderful! The food, drinks and service are good. A great place to get together after work for a hearty meal.

Went here after watching the Calgary Flames beat up on the Vancouver Canucks this past Feb. 14. Had a nice time there after the game, even though the pub was inundated with Canucks fans. Fortunately they weren't that obnoxious as it would have spoiled a lovely evening. Go Flames!

Im from dublin and was delighted when I found the James Joyce, the staff are great(actual irish people working there) the quality of food is brilliant (particularly the fish and chips with a side of curry sauce)and best of all it the only pub in Calgary that serve real irish pints 20oz!!! All round good craic.

We hit the Joyce often and enjoy the pub food and taps. But the beer prices are getting too high, seriously $9 a beer for draft?

Went for business lunch meeting on a Friday and was not impressed with food or service. The service was very inattentive, we were there close to two hours. Considering everything was a stew (which would have been prepared before-hand), this seems very odd. Meals ordered were the curry chicken stew wrapped in potato pancake, stew with pastry topping, stew, and... More
